The thought of court proceedings is very worrying to me as I'm sure it is with others. X

I think you've got the wrong idea of what the small claims court is like.

Have a look at this short video:

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • There are simply photos of a stationary car is all. I made this point on appeal but obviously they plough on regardless x

They'd get short shrift I would imagine from any Judge they would be daft enough to put this one in front of. I can't see it getting anywhere near a courtroom.

  • So what would usually happen? I'd get numerous threats and then it would go away? Thank you so much for your time x

No-one can predict the final outcome 100% accurately!

But certainly expect unpleasant debt chasing letters

And let them know if you move any time in the 6 years from the original incident

Powerless debt collector threatening letters for a few months - ignore these. It will go quiet thereafter, but there may be a bit of a further flurry a couple of years on. Keep them in a file, but all can be ignored.

You just need to keep an eye open for a Letter of Claim, or real court papers from the Northampton CCBC. Vanishingly unlikely (but we can never say 'never'), but come back on this thread if you do receive either.

I suspect most posters who never return do. At least you came back and told us.
