Obviously he died in 2001
Seems he died at least twice, may be three times.

  • Money laundering....? I’m 79, I have the state pension going every week and another small pension going in once a month. I buy a lot from Amazon and I give my card to my daughter to use if she shops for me. I have been using Skybet and Skybingo over the last 2 years, which granted has not helped my financial situation.

As for mobility...no I can’t blinking get to the door of the branch, my son picked me up to take me to his by just that physically picking me up and putting me in the car!!

How can they continue to put me in a worse position?

And no, no second account. I need this resolved before I’m in complete debt!
Dear Pete, I hope you managed to resolve your issue with HSBC.
I am going through the same and found it easier to just open an account with a different bank and have them switch (7 day guarantee) all direct debits and sources of income to my new one.
In addition, they will have problematic account with HSBC closed.
Why would I want an account that is making a fuss for accessing my own money? They block my card, I cancel the account.
Plenty of banks on the high st waiting for customers.

Re the fuss of accessing your own money, it depends if your actions are leading HSBC to think something dodgy is going or the system is detecting something thats innocent.
