Could you go to Branch next time you go to your son's? Or just go straight to Branch?0 -

I don’t think so, I’m won’t be going down there for an age. I only went because he’s big enough to help me more than my daughter, you know in and out of bath, getting to loo.
If online digital banks exist where it is not possible to have a face to face meeting, if they can resolve blocked cards and accounts, surely HSBC can come up with an alternative.0 -
This may help you (https://www.nationaldebtline.org/EW/sampleletters/Pages/Ask-your-bank-to-pay-particular-bills-out-of-your-account-%28sole-name%29.aspx):
And there's some more information here, specifically about Housing Benefit payments, but I understand the principle applies to other bills: http://www.stevenage.gov.uk/content/15953/21310/22429/First-Right-of-Appropriation.pdf.
As I understand it, you can tell your bank to make specific payments from money that's paid in to your bank account before they take their own charges.
You should set up a new bank account elsewhere as soon as you can and have your income paid in to it and your regular payments paid out from it.
You can open a new bank account online. If you have a problem opening a regular bank account, you could open an account with CashPlus. Their account usually attracts a monthly fee, but it's waived if you join via this link: https://www.moneysupermarket.com/prepaid-cards/. There is a one off charge of £5.95.
I would like to thank you! This is the type of answer I was hoping to get, actual practical advice. I’m grateful for all the replies but this one is great.0 -

Do you think I can send the letter attached to an email, I also don’t have a printer. Obviously I could hand write it but it’s the digital age.0 -

Hang on... if you're 79 then how are you living with your 78 year old mother?

Or are you sharing forum logins now as well as bank cards?0 -

I buy a lot from Amazon and I give my card to my daughter to use if she shops for me. I have been using Skybet and Skybingo over the last 2 years, which granted has not helped my financial situation.
As for mobility...no I can’t blinking get to the door of the branch, my son picked me up to take me to his by just that physically picking me up and putting me in the car!!
How can they continue to put me in a worse position?
And no, no second account. I need this resolved before I’m in complete debt!
It was quite clear to me this is a troll thread. No 79 year old writes the way you do.
In your post from 2 years ago: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5610995you claim your mother is 76, and yet you are are 79?
You were also claiming ESA 7 years ago: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4173593I didn't know you could claim ESA aged 72....0 -
Not too long ago you were doing some quite energetic sounding DIY - is that when you got so badly injured that you are now immobile and housebound?

Perhaps father, son and daughter use the same MSE account.0 -
petethesteam wrote: »Good idea in theory but I do not want my daughter to know of this mess, she lives with me and has problems herself, illness on ESA so not much money. I deffo don’t want my sons to know. I need a resolution soon, my rent will be due in little over a week, I have never even been a day late in 55 years in a council house.
How does she not know this if your whole family is posting from the same account?petethesteam wrote: »I was asking on behalf of my mother, seemed easier to just ask it like I did, with hindsight however, not so good. Although my username petethesteam I am in fact a 42 year old woman. I apologise for misleading you guys, it wasn’t my intention, just needed some answers quickly. Petethesteam is a reference to my father0
