Although I have 1903 on my laptop without any issues. I'd like to take your advise and avoid that version when I upgrade my PC from W7 to W10.
I can install the pro version but how can I prevent it from installing build 1903?0 -
^^ Just install it - only a small number (relatively) will have problems .. If you do then we can help you0

, or would you recommend I 'reset the tcpip stack' whatever that means:o
Really appreciate folks trying to help.
I would say if its not broke then don't fix it - but next time you have connection problems reset the stack.
The TCPIP stack is just the layers of systems that work in the background to allow communication between the devices. Resetting them usually fixes most connection issues that aren't caused by hardware , drivers or malware0 -
Needless to say it’s gone again.
Malware bytes came up clean. Not sure whether to try your solution or contact ISP again as this is the latest in a long series of problems.0 -
If you other devices can connect then it really isn't an ISP issue.
Resetting the tcp stack isn't going to break anything - it's just resetting things to how they were at a clean install
It may or may not work - but it will rule out another possibility0 -
I might be wrong but I can't see anywhere that you have given or been asked to give the make and model of the WiFi adaptor in your system. It could be that the driver simply isn't working properly under the build of Windows 10 you currently have installed, if this is the case we may be able to find others with the same issue.
Click start, start typing device manager and then open it up when it appears in the menu. Go to network adapters, expand and either screenshot the results or give us the model number. If you want to right click, go to properties and then the driver tab and give us the version you have installed that would be good too.0 -

Followed by another 9 items Realtek PCle FE Family Controller, then 8 WAN Miniports0 -

That could still be the case here, but it still doesn't make it an ISP issue .. 5G just relates to which frequency the router is broadcasting its wifi signal on.
What I meant was that if the phones can connect ok then you know that the kit is working, so it isn't an ISP issue.
If it were me personally here then id probly update the network card/s drivers first, then reset the IP stack and see if that gets it0
