Not sure what you mean by someone elses fault? Not once ive said that. CCJ is correct and the family member is responsible for that, no dispute there. Its actually been fully paid off now hence this thread.

I am making this call because my family member is old and its too complicated for her to deal with. Im sure you would be doing the same. She has been with me at first but she gave me full authority to speak and deal with this on her behalf so is no longer required to be with me

I first called Northampton court and got through within ten minutes. No issues with them at all. Infact they were very helpful and gave me the local county court dealing with it. Ive spent two weeks chasing my local county court up, various emails and as mentioned before one half hour waiting time on the call only to be hung up on. All automated. Google reviews on this county court say the exact same thing, one half hour waiting then hang up. The weird thing is whenever you start the call you are automatically at number 5 in the que then around 45 minutes you get to number 1. At the 1 and half hour mark you get a automated message saying lines are too busy now call back later

    Absoloute disgrace!

So ive called northampton again after this nonsense and explained the situation to them. They were helpful and gave me the details of the legal team who are dealing with it. They said get the legal team to forward the info to northampton county court and they will send it to my local county court to deal with. Still issues though due to the complex situation as the legal team i spoke to had all the details but cant do anything till the end of the month due to payment processing times etc etc

All long and complicated! I just want this resolved.
  • If it’s paid off what are you contacting them for?

its all in the thread - complicated situation
  • I’ve read through it - it’s all over the place.

Is the CCJ paid or not?

If it is, then there should be no reason to be contacting the court anymore.

ITs now all paid off, just in the month gone by. Problem is the pension where the money is coming from will not stop making payments untill they recieve authorisation from the court. So essentially the family member is overpaying. Ive been contacting the courts, the pension company and also the liquidation company dealing with it

In normal circumstances once a debt is paid the company will inform whoever that its done but problem is this company has gone into liquidation so all sorts of issues

The pension company will have received an order from the court telling them how much to pay each month and how much in total is to be paid. The court do not tell them when it's all paid off.

You're either speaking to somebody at the pension company who doesn't know what they're talking about or misunderstanding what they're telling you.

    Most likely the latter

The court will have told the pension company to make payments until the debt was satisfied, so it should be a set number of payments.

They should automatically stop when completed.

A settlement certificate may not be possible, however the damage to the credit report has already been done by the CCJ, wether it shows as settled or not may not make much difference to your family member, probably best they don’t apply for credit again anyway, as their ability to manage it seems to have diminished somewhat.

If you need to contact the court again, they tend to respond better to emails rather than the phone, as the court is quite a busy place.
