Hi
So today I spent £5.70. I needed some milk but the real kicker is that I made lunch but forgot it an left it in the fridge at home. I ended up buying lunch at work- oh dear. Well onwards and upwards, must try better tomorrow.
£175/£5.70 3.26% spent.

First spend of the month - £3.41 - bread, eggs and YS mushroom stirfry (28p) and YS curly Kale (20p) so will use stirfry tonight with prawns and some chinese spices and noodles. Household has been reduced by 2 as DS1 on holiday til Friday and DS2 housesitting all week so DD and I will mainly use from freezer/cupboard supplies as we both like veggie meals which the boys don't!
Reminder for myself - must root out jars and pick blackberries and ask kind friend for some apples to make jam (she will get a couple of jars as a thank you). Have a great day

hurrah after a drought of about 3 weeks our lidl had the £1.50 boxes back today...i got 2 such good value
also popped to aldi for fruit (prior to lidl) like a look at the super 6 but it doesnt seem s super as once it was
hope evryone is going strong xxonwards and upwards0 -
I've found the same with the Aldi Super 6. Packs are usually very small although today I bought a couple of the snack packs of grapes to have at lunchtime tomorrow as I'll be at the hospital most of the day so they'll be handy as part of my lunch.0

Yesterday £92.48 was spent in Aldi, buying meat (mostly popped in freezer when I got home - large chicken promptly roasted in oven), 2 x 4 pints cartons of milk (when I run out of milk will be my prompt to go back to the shops).
Was disappointed when I got back home with two punnets of plums and a punnet of vine tomatoes. Several plums (ripen at home variety) were rotten and had to be thrown away, I didn't bother complaining because sometimes these things happen, but when I opened the punnet of vine tomatoes, one had been squashed, and had caused the inside punnet to be covered in horrid black mould. I've taken a pic, and I'll be sending a complaint to Aldi.
I've got a sneaky dinner cooking a the moment. Over the weekend we had a rib eye steak each. I trimmed off a bit from each steak before cooking, and hubby never noticed the reduction . Tonight we're having beef curry for dinner using the trimmings, all it cost was a small onion half a can of chopped tomatoes, and spice already in cupboard. I've got some bread on the go, of which I'll be frying a couple of naans made from the dough in my heavy frypan.0 -
Great idea trimming the steaks a bit and then making a curry. Think I'll pinch that idea as got a couple of sirloin steaks YS today which I can easily trim. Will add loads of vegetables as well and make it into DH's favourite - a beef biryani.

Got a digital pressure cooker yesterday and right now it's on a cleaning cycle. It cost £76.49 (different budget) which I think is brilliant for a 6L. Lots of batch cooking and cooking beans to follow. I'll be using it to cook my own soya beans to then blend and strain to make soya milk. Soya milk can also be used to make tofu, may use soya beans to make own natto and/or tempeh. Pressure cooker was much better overall than getting a new soya milk maker and it was cheaper too.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
