Sorry I've had no time to post, but i have been keeping track and I'm currently at £308.91.
With a few days to go, we shouldn't need much; as I recently went Aldi for my bulk up on soya milk, and a few other bits.
Work means I am not getting to meal plan how I would like too, which is very annoying. Days off seem to be booked up for something before they've even got here; which means I've just no time to spare. It is what it is. So I am just muddling along at the moment.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £72.08/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Afternoon All
Just a quick visit to report £10.43 spent in MrT’s yesterday, £7.50 of which was for batteries for both smoke detectors. (One of the damn things started bleeping at 4am yesterday morning. They were installed together, so I’m expecting the other one to kick off any time now.)
I’m heading out in a moment to go to the football, via the Farm Shop. I’ll report that spend later/tomorrow. Meanwhile, the above brings our total spend for September to £94.31/£121.20, leaving £26.89 for the rest of the month.

Hello everyone,
Today is the last day of the month for me so I will declare my total for September
£148.68/£175 or about 85%
I am quite pleased with that although it could have been lower if I didn't keep forgetting my lunches and having to buy a sandwich. I'm going to reduce my target next month.

I have been grocery shopping again
.Am now closing my wallet forever and ever and ever and ever:rotfl:B
The problem is,I had bought groceries this week, but then, inspired by my girlie weekend away last weekend (hosted by a vegan),I decided I would like to try eating a vegetarian diet,as much as possible (I believe it is called flexitarian). So over The last few days I have been getting so inspired ,looking at recipes, blogs, websites etc.It has been really interesting reading, and I have been running to the shops to find stuff to make newly-discovered recipes .
So,today I went to ASDA for the big shop (£61.59).Lots of tinned stuff, cashew nuts, two different types of plant-based milk (my 17yo already only drinks soy milk),and I wanted almond milk for a recipe, vegan mayonnaise (tried it last weekend, and wouldn't have known it wasn't my usual Hellmans mayo if I hadn't seen the label:eek:B)
Then I went to Holland and Barrett (somewhere I have never considered grocery shopping previously :rotfl:),that was another £11.33.Won't be shopping there as habit:o.
This week I have been to three different supermarkets, and they were out of ricotta cheese. Finally I went to one of the smaller stores local to me,bought a few tubs of that and some Parmesan cheese, totalling £5.50.
Spent today £78.42:eek::o
Total for the month:£385.85/250SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Ps:I noticed this week (since I am now paying attention to these things :rotfl:),that there are a few vegans/vegetarians here.
If anyone has any advice re either diet,I would really appreciate any hints and tips re shopping, recipes, books, blogs, websites, favourite ingredients, etc.I was really inspired last weekend, and would love to at least be flexitarian (have had no meat meals this week, where I would normally have had 3-4.I am really starting to think about where our food comes from.Yesterday even questioned my conscience for about 20 minutes before cooking eggs for lunch).
I am really interested in learning more if anyone has stuff for me to look at.:j:jSPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

The best "starter" vegetarian recipe book I've used is Rose Elliot's Cheap & Easy Cookbook. I'd also recommend her Bean Book. (I'm not vegetarian, but we do eat meat-free meals.)

Afternoon All.
Today is payday and I am declaring for September. Since my post on Saturday, we've spent £8 at the farm shop (includes a huge head of broccoli, 1 dozen eggs, 1 butternut squash, 2 sweetcorn, multiple onions and 1 bag of carrots), £7.89 at MrT's (4 large Yeo Valley Yoghurts, 2 bags of peppers and some mushrooms) and £8.66 on a tray of chicken enchiladas at Costco (Saturday night's lazy dinner after football).
The above brings our total spend for September to £118.86/£121.20. Once the coppers are removed from the housekeeping purse, I'll roll the balance into October's GC Challenge; at the most, it'll be £2.34.

Jack Monroe's site - they're vegan now, have meat in some but not all older recipes, and pretty cheap.
I try and be as flexitarian as possible, and I try and buy good-welfare meat for what I do have.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

We didn't spend any more since last posting so I can now say that we spent £217.41 for September which is £17.41 over the £200 budget. Not too bad but still over budget . October starts tomorrow.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
