    A statement like I will never marry you can be a game changer. This happened to me 2 years into what is now a 15 yr relationship. It did change both me and the relationship. I am obviously a lot older (in my 70s now) but back then I backed off a lot & intend to stay there. He now wants more commitment (as in live in) - not going to happen, but back 13 yrs ago without that conversation - like a shot.


    The really stupid thing is that we would probably never have married, it was just the "I'll never marry you" statement that said I don't care enough about you to make that commitment. We do in the end tend to reap what we sow.
