Just wondering if anyone has any tips on an energy suppplier that seems good value I was with first utility which is now Shell energy and have stayed with them,I had an e mail asking if I wanted to switch to their new fixed policy which includes a google nest hub and a google home mini,I'm not interested in those gadgets and there is no such thing as a free lunch so it has put me off,has anyone got any tips on who to move to?

If you have a few or even one or two friends you can switch to Bulb then their generous referral fees of £50 would make them the cheapest overall supplier in the UK. In my area electric is 13.2 p/kwh.. gas 3.41p/kwh plus 20 p a day standing charge.
. I would say going separate gas and electric suppliers this year is the cheapest overall ...eg Zog for gas and Symbio for electric..both with fixed yearly deals with exit fees. Prices vary by area so i would consult a comparison site and also check the cashback sites like Quidco0 -

In the past years suppliers have raised prices as we go towards the colder months usually.0 -
I m about to switch myself now to Zog at 2.9 p kwh 15 dsc for gas and Symbio at 12 p kwh for electric 15 dsc.. That can t be topped by any dual fuel fix in my area. I m not sure if prices are heading down or up so its a bit of a gamble going for fixed yearly deals.

Your bills will show the gas and electric separately - just do them one at a time and do a few simple sums.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Make sure to tick the box which says "show all suppliers " and not just the ones Uswitch get paid for.
You can then try different gas and electric suppliers compared to the dual fuel suppliers.
Once you have established who you want to switch to and have got a yearly total in money you can then look around for cashbacks and referral fees ( such as Bulbs ) to take into consideration.0 -
Use the Citizens Advice website because it shows all suppliers (the commercial sites don't have to do this). It's quick and easy - no messing about with entering your address or email.
Get a dual fuel comparison, then it's just single clicks to get gas only and electricity only. If you have Economy 7, try it again without selecting E7 because single rate may be cheaper. Most companies can just add the two readings together.0
