is it such a bad thing lenders viewing ur credit file manually?

for people like me who dont have a great credit history it might be a good thing rather then a straight up rejection

    Not really, no.

Anyone who looks at your credit file is going to use the same criteria as the automated system so the results should be roughly the same. A borderline case would end up going to manual review anyway.

Looks like i was given some bad advice. I spoke to all the credit agencies and they said i should have left the Q there instead of the late payment marked.

Basically there is no note or anything left on the file, a simple Q is marked instead of the 1 late payment marked on my credit file. This does not mean companies will do a manual check all it means is the payment for that month has been queried. A Q looks a damn sight better then a late payment marker!

This forum is great for advice but i do wish people give opinions if they have knowledge on the subject instead of making things up and guessing.

I wouldn't trust anything the CRAs have to say.

And for what it's worth I didn't say that a Q marker would mean it went to manual review, only that it may.

Either way, just thought id put this up incase anyone who has similar issues can see this thread. My main issue is now going back to the lender who put the Q on and then i asked to remove it - now i have to go back to him and say leave it on!!

Im not sure if he will do that, but i will try

It's funny how people are happy for incorrect data to be put on their credit report if they think it helps them, isn't it?

A single Q mark over a year ago will very likely not be the cause or trigger of a manual review.

You already admitted that you accepted their decision so there is no longer a dispute. Reapplying the Q marker is by definition asking for incorrect data to be added to your credit file.

As someone who has made several threads about supposedly incorrect data on their files, I'd expect you to want what's on your file to be accurate, warts and all.

But unsurprisingly (because I've seen it before on these forums many times) you're happy for things to be misreported if it benefits you.

    It's extremely hypocritical.

I don’t think OP has much grasp on - well anything to be fair.

    Constant posting about nonsensical things.
Expecting things to be done with no real justifications.
Always seeming to get out of dodge.
Not listening to or taking on board advice given by other posters.
    Etc.
