PPI. Which claim handler?

I've gone through my old loans and dealt directly with the banks to successfully submit the claims.
However there is one further bank I have had no luck with. Unfortunately I don't have any paperwork from them to show loan details and these are old loans (late 90s to mid 2000's). I have couple of bank statements showing payments with a reference but the bank are not able to find my details from this reference. I am considering using a claims handler to see if they can get any joy as time is running out and I have gone as far as I can with this.
Any suggestions as to who to use?
Or is there more I can do myself with this bank?

Claims Handlers can do no more than you can and in the unlikely event they were successful where you were not they'd charge you an exorbitant fee. They cannot somehow magic up records you've already been told no longer exist.
Regardless, if you've already complained to the Bank, you'll get a bill from the Claim Company for wasting their time if you engage them.
You cannot make repeated complaints, with or without a CMC, unless you have new evidence from your own archive not in your original complaint.
Any CMC recommendation you may receive (on the forum or by private message) will be SPAM.0 -

How would a CMC achieve a different outcome?
All they do is contact the bank repeating the same info you gave.
The bank will respond back in the same way.0 -

By being more aware than myself of the processes and systems. They will have more experience than myself and may know the questions to ask.0 -

If i engaged a claims handler i would be up front about any previous conversations with the bank in question.0 -
So, moving the conversation on. Is there something i can do to further my claim?
I have banks statements showing payments to the lender in question. These are approx 20 years ago. They show reference numbers, dates and amounts of payments. I remember that when i applied for the loan that i would be accepted if took up the insurance. PS, bank in question is HFC.0 -

Your evidence of ‘payments’ are towards the loan and as such are not evidence of PPI which is your main issue here... unless you have any documentary evidence that specifically indicates you had PPI then no one can say or do anything to further your claim I’m afraid0

No one can magic up records that don't exist. However, you can complain to the ombudsman. Expect nothing and youll be well prepared. You ave six months from their final response to complain to the FOS.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Given the number of PPI complaints I've seen from Claims Companies where the "PPI policy docs" they've sent in with the complaint as proof of PPI were Extended Warranties, Gap Insurance, Tyre and alloy cover etc I wouldn't set much store on their experience or anything else. They were fun to respond to though, pointing out that their clients excellent long term sickness benefits had no relevance to their extended warranty0
