Starbucks - Manchester (Trafford Centre) - Civil Enforcement Ltd

I've searched on the CEO Email website and found a Mr Jason Dunlop who it states is the current Chief Operating Officer of Starbucks UK. I'll fire an email off to him and also copy in Starbucks Customer Service in the hope they may pass it onto someone else as senior.
I'd like to quote the Equality Act 2010 in terms of my partner being 8 months pregnant and the fact that the pregnancy can cause her mind to not always be thinking straight as she can be pre occupied with the aches and pains of every day pregnancy.
However I'm struggling to find an actual paragraph from the act I can use to support these claims. Can anyone help?0 -
Also can't seem to find anywhere who owns the land on Traders Avenue where Starbucks is located. I know The Peel Group used to own the Trafford Centre but sold it to Intu Properties in 2011. I doubt that they bought the surrounding land though.0

Tried searching but no one point really sticks out that can support our claim for my partners forgetfulness.
I'll just have to try and write a load of jargon about how my partner feels discriminated against due to the conditions of her pregnancy in which she can be be very forgetful when suffering from aches and pains. And also mention that she chose to spend her time and money in the Starbucks store instead of having to deal with the crowds in the very busy Trafford Centre.
Can anyone put that into some sort of better sounding wording? I'm not the best at trying to get my points across when dealing with professional people.0 -
That sounds fine, I don't think you need special jargon.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thought I would give Starbucks UK Customer Service a quick call on the off chance before I attempt to construct a good enough email to the COO.
Got the usual drivel at the start about it's nothing to do with them and because there are signs in the car park and in store about applying for the parking extension after 90 minutes we would have to speak to Civil Enforcement with any complaints.
They even then had the audacity to say due to our experience they could offer us a voucher for a free drink in store!!
Explained further about how unfair and discriminating this against my partner due to her pregnancy and that she only chose to spend time in their store due to being anxious around crowds of people in the busy Trafford Centre next door. She thought she would try Starbucks instead of their rival Costa Coffee as it was quieter and thoroughy enjoyed her time in the store with the pleasant staff which made her feel more at ease.
Was told that they would escelate my call to the management team who would call me back within 3 working days. This is going to take us extremely close to the end of the extended 14 days at the reduced rate which ends on Thurs 22nd August.
I'll still fire off an email to the COO today. I just need to find the right words to use which is hard enough.0 -
Quick update.
I've been liasing with the store manager who has kindly agreed to cancel the ticket for us.
Thank you all for your help!0 -
Great news- putting pressure on the business/landowner/management agency is the easiest way to avoid court- which can be a lottery.

Nice result, well done. Shows the power of the landowner complaint.
There are some who come here who would seem to rather pay the £60 than make the call to the landowner. In sharp contrast, there was one poster (last couple of days) who complained to the landowner whose subsequent demand to the PPC to cancel the parking charge was met with obstinacy, resulting in the landowner pulling the plug on all his contracts with PPC across the north west of England, losing them potentially tens of thousands in parking penalties.
Hope your partner's pregnancy goes well. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hey Barrett,
Do you have the contact details for the store manager? I’ve received a similar notice that I’m trying to appeal - so far I’ve receive my rejection and appealed with POPLA, but they’ve sent over a copy of their landowner authority and pictures of the store so my appeal is pretty much flat on its face currently!
I can attach documents if needed0
