  • Lots of surveys available this morning on Prolific  Have another £5 pending now which will be £9 in total once all cleared.

So today is day 1 of officially stopping smoking, I have been a smoker on and off for about 15 years, but I want to stop for good now. Using patches to the moment and they are working so far!

Today will be a personal no spend day today, but do need to do the food shop which will come out of the joint house account.

  • Cashed out £7.14 from Prolific Academic.

Paid to MBNA, which leaves a balance of £1278.80.

All ready for my 1st anniversary tomorrow, decided instead of getting a takeaway which would have cost about £10/£15 each we got a meal deal from M&S as a treat which was £5 each.

I am happy with that feel as though i am being more savvy with money.

I decided to pay another £100 to the credit card.

I am hoping to be able to overpay more before payday but i will see how it goes.

Yay  That's such an achievable amount as well. I keep breaking mine down into smaller chunks- I keep celebrating everytime I get into the next thousand bracket because when I think about £27000 it's too massive a number. But given I can pay off £440 a month at the moment I can celebrate every time it goes down a chunk.

Your doing so well! Breaking the total amount into smaller chunks is the only way i have managed to get here.

I was in a lot of debt when i realised i needed to do something about it.

I am still working on learning good money habits to stop myself ever getting to that point again.

  • More surveys done today  Once approved I will have another £6 which will go straight to the credit card.

I am off this week, but have been trying to find things free to do with my husband so as to have more left at the end of the month to pay extra off.

Still feeling really motivated to get this debt gone. 15 days till payday, when i can pay another £277.64 to the credit card.

  • Its payday  have been quiet up until now as nothing much happened until today.

I have just paid £277.64 to my credit card which now brings me to £893.40 left to pay.

I cant believe i am under the £1,000 mark now, and that has made me so determined to get it gone! I am so close!

Hoping to get some extra money in from surveys this month to be able to pay some more off before payday.

  • I have managed to get some surveys done, but just short of being able to cash out. Once i can its going straight to MBNA.

I have decided to focus on the joint account aswell in between paydays to keep me focused on improving.

So i did an online shop for next week (Delivery on Tuesday), we will eat whats in the house until then. It came to £55 which included £8 of cat food so I am pretty happy with that :)
