  • 2 more Surveys completed today on prolific  Really close to the £5 mark and will be able to cash out and pay to credit card.

I managed to get my phone bill reduced by £4 per month which is not much but it all helps.

I had a NSD today which I am very happy with and hoping for another tomorrow.

I've just read through your diary and you're doing brilliantly. Must be so rewarding to see that debt come so close to the end. I had a similar starting debt as you, and I've hit under the £5000 mark now which I didn't think I could do. Not quite brave enough for my own diary, but reading yours has spurred me on  I'll be following the rest of your journey.

    Thank you Elby

I remember hitting the £5000, that was when I really got the motivation to get it gone because I felt so close!

You have done so far without your debt free journey, and if you feel more comfortable just reading others journeys and that works then you do not necessarily need a diary. I just find it helps me keep more motivated to keep paying even small amounts so I can update.

I used to struggle and sometimes still do with motivation.

  • Its payday

I have paid £277.64 to MBNA which brings me to a total remaining of: £1,539.37. So I am extremely close now to my £1,500 first target!

Hoping to make some overpayment through the month and from surveys to get the £39.37 paid off!

Added £300 to my emergency fund which is now £1,252.38.

Feeling very positive, hoping i get some surveys soon!

Food shopping tonight, think this may be an expensive one as we are going back to eating very healthy!

  • I have been thinking, and i wandering if maybe i should just keep my emergency fund at £1,000 flat for now as im not planning to use it and pay the odd £252.38 to my credit card.

Savings rates are terrible at the moment, and even though my credit card is 0% it will free up more money overall once paid, because i will have the £277.84 im paying to it back in my pocket.

  • Ok so I took the plunge and rounded my savings down to £1,000 flat and paid the odd £252.38 to MBNA.

That leaves my total debt now at £1,285.94

Really hoping to be able to pay some more off before payday, and then with my next payment of £277.64 I could be under the £1,000 mark

Surveys picked up a little bit over the last few days so hoping to cash out soon!

  • There is not much to report at the moment which I guess is a good thing really.

I am regularly checking for surveys so that i can try to make some extra small payments to the credit card. I am stuck at £4 at the moment so one more survey will push me over the withdraw amount.

Its my first wedding anniversary on Saturday, not sure what the weather is going to do but we were planning to have a picnic, we bought a bottle of champagne (It was on offer) to share

I also have next week off work so trying to think of free things to do!
