Same thing has happened to me, rang to cancel, was made an offer of over 50% off and a free month. Brilliant.

Next bill was the old amount, rang to complain, got told nothing they can do, they have no facility to give refunds, and that I cannot cancel as when agreeing to the offer (which they haven't applied) I agreed to a 12 month contract.

am still within 14 days of 'new' contract so sod them

am not paying more than agreed/owed.

I'll cancel and go elsewhere if I must

I don`t think they are deliberately trying to screw you. I went through trying to renew/cancel/negotiate recently and every single thing that was agreed with the asian call centers simply disappeared. Not sure if it`s a systems issue or a people issue but once I got through to someone in scotland it was all sorted without a problem.

Virgin may be having some issues with their account management systems.

are you sure that isn't a New CUstomer only deal ?? !!

I'd look for a backup plan if I were you!
It is, but I'll let the contract expire and order through uSwitch. Assuming that makes me a "new" customer.

They haven't called me back since I requested my disconnection 17 days ago so I am leaving. Hopefully you'll get better luck

How long did you wait for them to call you back? were you originally on 200mb?

They offered me £32 for 100mb bb only or £40 for my current basic tv, phone and 100mb bb which has just gone up to £51. Usually when cancelling you get put through to a second person but the first person just put the cancellation through when I declined those offers and said you had a call back when cancelling before, but they don't do that anymore so this will be your final call and that they will send return boxes to send my equipment back.

Can the CS mark you to not get a call back? apparently I'm an high usage household do you think that may be why the deals are so poor.
  • Been with virgin for maybe 15years +, package is 100mg broardband basic phone and v6 box with just basic channels plus all the bt sport channels, for the last year paying £36 on a deal, just gone up to £50 and will be going up another few quid in sept.
Phoned the other day and they refused to discount it any further so cancelled, retentions phoned today and said the best he could do was £50 with no increase in sept, so told them to continue with the cancelation.
