Apologies, to me the whole lot is the tube, using it regularly you tend to overlook the 'branding'.
l Know what you mean, just to save confusion to the original poster, at canning town station you want a DLR Train towards woolwich/ Arsenal and the airport is the third stop From canning town station
@ soolin if it was me and l had the time l would do the £1.50 fare challenge, travel off peak and avoid zone one you can do zone 6 to zone 3 for £1.50 this s money saving expert after all :rotfl:0

I like a challenge and could spend the money saved on an extra coffee as a reward (or maybe half a coffee at London prices).
But to do that I presume I'd need a contactless card???0

I know what you mean. I used to do some weird and wonderful routes to avoid zone 1 only to get scuppered by a closed station or disrupted line and be forced to a detour. I live out in zone 6 so still challenge myself to wait a few minutes or get a wiggle on , where I can to get the cheaper fare wherever possible. There are some very odd savings if you watch the timings.
As you say though, I think for ease of use a direct route is better for the OP.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You will have to forgive is going off topic - personally I would stick to the direct route as you are unfamiliar with the system.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Do you by any chance have any avios points you are struggling to spend?
You can get road transfers with avios by looking under experiences.0

Does your bus continue to Victoria Coach Station? If you have no luggage in the hold, nobody will notice if you stay on for the extra trip. Or pay £6 for it. Then less than £7 on TFL#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

*****PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED A CONTACTLESS CARD OR AN OYSTERCARD TO GET ON A BUS*****
Buses in London do not take cash at all, it is still possible to pay for the Tube part with cash, but please note that cash fares are more money than Oyster/contactless fares.
Just to clarify my suggestion would be to take the first tube train of the day (Piccadilly line) towards London change at Green Park onto the Jubilee Line and then change at Canning Town (DLR) to City Airport.0
