  • Thank you. I guess there's not a lot I can do, I have already handed my notice in at my current job and looking to move end October. I guess I'll just have to be open. I'm hoping that having my partner apply with me, who earns well. Will work in my favour too.

    Source?

I accept some do. I've rented for 15 years give or take. 20+ properties (I move around) I've never supplied statements.

Flaming heck Comms, this is not a dissertation, I am not required to provide a source :rotfl:

I must have been unlucky then, as I have had to provide bank statements quite a few times. I don't have a problem with it as I have nothing to hide.
You have lived in 20 plus rental properties in 15 years, what the heck for? You must be bonkers:eek:

Emily, stop worrying, prospective landlords and agents are limited in what they can see on your credit report, look at the links I posted, all will be well :A provided you meet their affordability formula.

So why is there such a big emphasis put on your credit score etc it's literally petrifying. I'm uprooting my whole life to be with him and this is by far the most stressful thing ever!

Because the world perpetuates lies to young people.

The only person who see’s your credit score is you.

This is incorrect unfortunately (but was correct until very recently).

Letting agents used to only have access to publically available information, however, there are some (as mentioned above) who through the services of TransUnion or others now have access to a tenant's FULL credit file, which will include details of all bank and credit accounts, defaults, late payments etc, as well as CCJs, bankrupties which are available publically.

Letalliance offer exactly this service, since June this year.

I would post a link, but am too new a member. You can see in the referencing section on their website.
