Rental credit checks

Hi
I'm relocating to be with my partner, we're currently lkng distance. He lives with parents so we want to get a little flat to rent for ourselves. I'm a little concerned about the credit check process? What can they see on my file? I have 'poor' credit score however no ivas, bankruptcy or ccjs. No defaults on any payments due. I do have credit card debt and a personal loan but make regular payments and comfortably. Google has alot of contradictory answers, some say public records others say they can see everything
Thanks

Public records only - unless you show them the rest.0

Thank you, that puts me at ease a bit! I was concerned as already handed my notice in at work as have a 3 month notice period and didn't want us to be declined for the flat.0

Credit checks can also include employment status.0

I currently work full time and will be going into full time employment too. I can also offer a guarantor.0

One estate agent asked for 6 months bank statements and wage slips. What are they looking for in the bank statements? Obviously they will see my credit card payments and loan payments, will this have a negative affect?0

My rule of thumb is - never provide statements.
But then I don't really trust 'some bloke' with all my private details...0 -
This is my concern! What I spend my spare money on shouldn't concern them. I don't rent yet so I have luxuries that obviously wouldn't have once in a rental! This is all alien to me.0

Most agents want them, rental property is hard to get, sometimes you have no choice, use a BIG marker pen to block out anything privateBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
The agency who I'm looking at going for a flat with says on their website, they can see credit scores? Feel like I'm going to end up homeless 0
