I thought that requesting a transfer from the "preferred broker" was the generally accepted way of doing things..leaving them to handle such things as ISA accounts.
It's the only accepted way of transferring an ISA and the generally accepted way of transferring a general investment account.

No reply to me urgent e mail this morning,
and surprise, surprise, nothing in my wifes e mails about her transfer to them!
What an absolute shambles, especially as they have conveniently chose a Friday  to carry all this out, or NOT as in my case!

I googled MT4 accounts .....I still didn't really understand it but I don't think it is of use to me who just wants to buy and hold.

"MetaTrader 4, also known as MT4, is an electronic trading platform widely used by online retail foreign exchange speculative traders. It was developed by MetaQuotes Software and released in 2005. The software is licensed to foreign exchange brokers who provide the software to their clients"

I'm UK citizen but now a EU resident and haven't received the onboarding email yet, altho I received the update email explaining the delay yesterday evening. I've assumed like I think you seem to have, that it's the UK clients that are being dealt with first on the assumption that they would be the easiest & fastest for them to verify identities, and then they'll move onto the rest of us next week. Must be a nightmare for them if they're having to do the process much more manually than they originally intended. I guess given that it's after UK office hours, we now hope to hear something from them on Monday.
It's been extremely useful to see everybody's posts both for the reassurance that the process for others is at least underway, and to be able to prepare documents like statements and selfies and so on ready for when we can start onboarding. Pity no-one replied whether we have to tick every box accepting their weird terms & conditions, which seem to be giving them all sorts of permissions to do things that don't seem at all normal or relevant to my simple portfolio.

I was not able to progress to the next page of the 'onboarding' process without ticking every box - I kept missing some because they are so faint I could not see them on my screen so I was asked to agree to them again until I had located and ticked all of them. Conditions where not relevant to me either (if I could read them - so faint)  but, to be honest, I just want to access my share accounts, extract the dividend money accrued (another long-winded process apparently) and then move to another broker.
I was timed out at one point but, logging back in later, all the information I had put in so far had been saved so that was a relief - despite that I could not find the 'Save for Later' button.
Also, my second (ISA) account has now showed up.

Every time I see the nonsense word 'onboarding' in this thread, I think of waterboarding.
