Multiple NIPs

I have 9 out of 10 NIPs. The problem is I spoke to my company, the rental company and none of them has gotten anything whatsoever.TadleyBaggie wrote: »You have no idea when the NIP was first issued, the one you have could be the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th for one offence. Rental cars are often leased from another company altogether. Lease companies sometimes use finance companies to purchase the vehicles. The NIP chain can quite long sometimes.0 -
You are completely correct, but neither the company I work for nor the rental company has gotten anything in my name or for the vehicle I drive.0

Yes. I have. The keeper received them on the 17th of July, which is 2 months after the offence was commited.
Either:
1. You don't know who the registered keeper is (have you seen the V5C for the vehicle?), or
2. The notice(s) that have been passed to you are reminders because the originals to the RK got lost in the post or were not replied to, or
3. The NIP/s172 request was sent out too late and you have a valid defence - but this is so unlikely that you should ignore it until you actually know the first NIP was sent late.
You talk about the "company" passing it on to you(?). They should not do this. They should respond naming you as the driver and then you wait to receive your own which you must respond to even if you think it is out of time.0 -

But you say in post #15 that your company and the rental company haven't received anything. Who is the registered keeper whom the NIP(s) was addressed to?
You need to be clearer about what's happened, who has received what, and who NIPs have been addressed to.0 -

Are the NIPs addressed to you or have they been passed on to you by somebody else? If they are addressed to you, how did whoever sent them to you get your details? If they were simply passed too you by somebody else you should return them to them and ask them to deal with them as they have been instructed.
You need to find out who holds the V5C and when they received the first NIP (the only one subject to the 14 day rule). Whatever issues you have with those NIPs you MUST reply to the requests for driver's details (provided they are addressed to you).
It is unlikely that ten (or more) NIPs have been sent out late and you need to prepare yourself for a court appearance to deal with those beyond number four (you may be offered a course for one, three points for three more and the fifth will see you invited to court for them to consider disqualifying you for "totting up".
Find out the info about the V5C holder and how you came to receive the NIPs and then let us know.0 -
Or rather see him facing disqualification necessitating an "Exceptional Hardship" plea.Yes I know. That's why I said "may".Depending on the speed two could see him banned.
The intriguing aspect of this is the NIPs. Where did they come from? Hopefully all will be revealed The important thing for the OP is to establish if there are any more in the pipeline and ensure he has them all heard together. Nothing worse than leaving court, pleased as punch with your successful exceptional hardship plea, only to get home to find another NIP on the mat!0 -
As he is on his continental licence how will that work if convicted?0

If he has UK licence as well any points/disqualification will be recorded against that. If he has no UK licence a "ghost licence" (i.e. a driving record) will be created against his details. Any disqualification means he cannot drive in the UK or Ireland (whatever licence(s) he may or may not hold).0 -
He shouldn't have a UK licence if he has an EU one.
No he shouldn't. But I have a suspicion he may have a provisional one:I do not have a full British driving licence, I am using my European one.0
