CIFAS marker and business

After an attempt by fraudsters to gain access to my business banking account I voluntarily put myself into CIFAS. Some months after this,
I applied to switch my account to Metro bank. I bought in all the ID and paperwork requested only to be turned down without a reason. As everything else with the business is in fine fettle and my personal credit rating is healthy I can only point to CIFAS as the reason for being declined. They didn't ask for more proof, just a flat no and goodbye. Am I missing something or is CIFAS causing me more trouble than it's worth?

It's not the protective registration causing you an issue.0 -

What do you mean by voluntarily put yourself into CIFAS?
Do you mean you paid the £25 for 2 years?

Was the Metro bank account your personal bank account, or a business one?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'd DSAR both CIFAS & N Hunter to see if anyone else has put you on there (involuntarily!).
If they've turned you down for protective registration that's against scheme rules - but given Metro's "issues", I suppose you can't rule a mistake like that out.0
