HSBC Online Access Problems - Personal Banking

Is anyone else having problems accessing their online bank accounts?

I log in as per normal , use my secure key and the system then 'hangs' forever. I then use the back key and 'Resubmission' keys and I get into HSBC webpage saying I am logged in . The option to click on 'my accounts' is there so I click on it. Then it hangs forever again.

I repeat the above and then logoff .

No luck getting through to any customer support team via 03457 404404 number (they are all busy).

The online chat isn't available too for some reason . When I did get through to them via chance , they told me to clear my Google Chrome browser history 'All Time' . I did this but it didn't help at all and the system just hangs forever .

I wonder if its 'Trusteer Rapport' that is causing the issue ?

Anyhow , I've sent an email to their CEO as I cannot continue with no online access to my bank account.

Just tested the login process and it is working fine for me.

Using Edge browser, and memorable word (not secure key). I have never installed or used 'Trusteer Rapport' either...

I am not using HSBC online banking but their app is working fine for me just now. Perhaps try the app if you are stuck with online.

    Try a different browser?
Use a browser in private/incognito mode?
    Use the mobile app?

This hardly warrants a CEO email - what a waste of time

No problem here using secure key.

Have you tried a different browser?

I'd try on a different browser/device, as well as clearing all cookies and disabling all extensions, add ons, ad-blockers and VPNs. No problem accessing it on my end either.

I've had issues in the past with some online banking websites (can't remember which:o) not working correctly with Adblock Plus installed on Google Chrome. Once 'white listed' they worked fine

I found that it just hung using MS IE and then I tried Google Chrome and it worked just fine.
It has been like that for a while for me. Similarly for Spotify - I don't know why. Chrome is the way to go.

But its been working okay for years with no problems, even with extensions like Adblock. I'm using Google Chrome and there has never been a problem before.

Success! Internet Explorer 11 works but Google Chrome doesn't anymore .

I have sent a secure message to the HSBC support to advise them of the problem. Doesn't matter if you clear Chrome 'cookies/caches/ browsing history (ALL TIME)' . It seems to be incompatible with accessing the HSBC personal banking website.

Why didn't HSBC advise their customers about this potential problem? Why wait for people to contact them via phone/online chat , etc?

Google Chrome is working for me. With or without adblocker.
