In house purchase, the vendor fills in a legal questionnaire in which they are asked to disclose matters like this. Even then, it is difficult to pursue claims later, or they may refuse to answer, or write "unknown."0 -
As Davesnave says... I can just see a LL 'fessing up to that. How many owner-occupiers are honest about neighbour disputes when they sell?
There is an easy get-out, anyway: The LL could claim he did not know; he doesn't live there. If that did not work, he could claim it was a personality clash with the previous tenants and not an ongoing issue. By the time the new buyers discovered the truth, it would be too late and the LL would probably be long gone.0
