    How compassionate of you.
Have you thought about talking to her? Or her family/carers?

i suffer from mental healthy myself - this lady is completely aware of what shes doing - whenever me or my partner are outside the house she chucks water down from her window at us. i will not excuse someones behaviour like that. Weve attempted to speak to her - all she does is shout nasty retorts or chuck water.

Record her behaviour and report it to the council and the police. Maybe that way she will get some help that she clearly needs.

As difficult as it may seem you really need to try and not let her behaviour get to you.

Just keep telling yourself it is only 11 months until you move on.

Let's hope that it won't be anything other than H20:eek:

Her behaviour is unacceptable ( and potentially dangerous if the vessel containing the water comes flying out of the window as well).

It would be as well to report what is happening to the council/her landlord (if she is not the owner)/the police.

Is this not likely to aggrevate the problem neighbours more which will just worsen the problem?

Fannying around trying to placate them won't help either. Someone who regularly reported noise nuisance continued to do so for several weeks after the property was vacated and empty.
Try to live your life as normally as you can in the circumstances. You won't placate your neighbour whatever you do, but you can control the impact on your relationship if you stop expecting both of you to be like church mice.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Doesn't matter what they do,the neighbour is going to be a pain. At least they'll get used to loud noses and not associate them with anger and a desire to placate.

    Ultimately an ASBO.
    And/or medical help.

But this will only happen if the various relevant authorities are informed and are gven evidence on which to act.

It's quite obvious that this person is ill and needs help, but not the sort you are giving her by behaving in an unnaturally quiet way in your own home.

If she is predictable, film her doing the above and go to the police. They will probably put a PSCO on the matter and take it from there. Firstly, it needs someone to gather evidence and complain to set the wheels in motion to get her some help.

No one is asking you to excuse her behaviour. I'm sure it's intimidating and annoying, but it's a problem that's landed randomly at your door and you either deal with it in an adult way or let it overwhelm you. Are there any other neighbours who could give you some support?

You are still smoking outside her window then.....
  • I could be wrong here but just a thought - is the landlord obliged to inform prospective tenants of any previous dispute/issues or is that just house buying?
