Two UUs from this morning:
Bumble and Bumble Scalp Detox 150ml WNBA. This was nice to begin with but I don't really see any benefit from it.
The Body Shop Mango Body Yogurt 200ml WDBA. Love this. The scent is so fresh, and this absorbs instantly. Great product.0 -
Hello ladies (and elmo
)!
I have two UUs:
1. So? Perfumed Body Lotion (50ml): WIBA? No. It was a present. In terms of value for money it was an eternal sputterer and just went on and on and on and on and on...and now, finally, off! :rotfl: :T Not too bothered about the smell, though. It's not offensive, just not 'wow', either.
2. Schwarzkopf Pro Styling Heat Protecton Straightening Spray: WIBA? Seems to do the job and is very reasonably priced.
I also have an IN, a Rimmell bronzer that I bought on an unexpected late-night trip to the supermarket as it looks like my shade. (It's much-needed, so it's OK!)
Please call me 'Pickle'

My Orly top coat and new OPI colours came on Friday. Am wearing Rub a Pub Pub on my fingers and Boys Be Thistling at me on my toes. Both lovely colours. Too soon to comment on the top coat.
Was working yesterday and as I also had some time to myself I went into TK Max to see if there was any Laura Geller make up there. Saw a Blush trio, lipgloss, eyeliner and mascara. For once the makeup was well stocked with good name brans ie Bare Minerals, Too Faced and Becca. Also saw some OPI minis and at one point picked up a Essie top coat but put it back. Then went into Boots and saw the No7 offer. Was toying with the idea of buying a kabuki brush (mine has mysteriously disappeared) and a sponge to qualify for the GWP and money off voucher but couldn’t bring myself to spend £16 on the brush. Bought a kabuki brush from One Below instead.
But the find of the day was from a charity shop near work. Wandered in to see if there were any cosmetics and found 2 Starbucks You Are Here mugs - Florida and New York- in pristine condition for £1.25 each. Emma collects these and was pleased with them.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

UU Primark x Alex Steinherr Plump & Glow Serum-inCream Moisturiser
I am pleased I tried this but honestly don't think I will repurchase... it sometimes felt a bit harsh for my skin.0 -

I have this in banana, I think I might break it out of the stash and into use soon!

Johnson's Gentle Eye Make-up Removal Pads x 30 - WDBA, I've cut way down on wipes and switched to washable ones, but this is an HG product for me, I use one each night after cleansing as all other cleansers leave my skin either too oily or too dry, so I use these as a sort of 'toner pad'
Yorkshire Soap Company No.2 - Peppermint Cream Shower Gel 250ml - WNBA, WAY too strong, like having toothpaste in your eyes if you used it above waist level!
INs (I fell for the pretty tins and lovely smells in TKMaxx!)
Scottish Fine Soaps Triple Milled Soap 100g - Heather
Scottish Fine Soaps Triple Milled Soap 100g - Raspberry
Scottish Fine Soaps Triple Milled Soap 100g - Seaweed
In other news....I THINK I've cracked the code for this shower gel making, it turns out I needed the following:
A rotary grater (doing it by hand was not a pleasant experience for an RSI sufferer and took FOREVER so I decided £15 was worth spending not to have permanent claw hand! :rotfl:)
Large saucepan (Husband made a face when he discovered I'd used his copper-bottomed stainless-steel one, so I've now found an smaller one, older non-stick one)
Stick blender - absolute essential to get the right consistency
Large heat-proof bowl, jug, funnel and empty bottles
Vegetable glycerine for foaming and essential oils for scent.
Basically it turns out you need to leave the mixture to cool for an hour at least, blend it all, let it sit for about 3 hours before you can see what the texture will end up like, mine changed massively during the four hours after cooking, which might be to do with the soap used, but I'll find out when I do another lot. This lot is still a little gloopy but that could well be down to how much faffing I did with it, I'll do it properly next time!
It cooled to a very dense jelly but went to a lovely gel texture after using the blender, which is why it's so necessary.
Right now we have approximately 3L of shower gel in peppermint & rosemary and in lemon, rosemary & eucalyptus! No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Hello y'all, hello Pickle
An update, that goes back to a little before I joined the thread, but I'd had a good look through my stuff and decided action was needed
UU - No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Hand Cream 10ml. WNBA because I have another to use up, as well as several other hand creams
Given away - I made up a little pamper gift for a pregnant friend who has been feeling a bit Frump-with-bump - montagne jeunesse peel-off honey face mask, models own mascara, Bior! nose pore strip, Stila liquid lipstick.
And I've got a number of items that I'm planning to gift to family when I visit next month (depending on how much space I have in my airport liquids bag)
Dumped (I've put a tub for liquid toiletries waste in my bathroom) - so far I've emptied a Simple moisturiser that I had allergic reaction to 3 times... I kept putting it at back of cupboard and forgetting why I stopped using it.
Some out of date sunscreens, some out of date intimate toiletries. Going to add some Body Shop body butters that have been lurking for over a decade :rotfl:
IN - yesterday I used Boots points to get a much needed Schwartzkopf Red Passion permanent hair dye. I've got major roots and fading.
And a Love Beauty & Planet hydration infusion sheet mask (saving it for my long haul flight next month) :jElmoxx

You'll have to post your instructions as I specifically bought a hand blender for my soap making and I'm sure I've got most of the other stuff as well. Would love to make some shower gel with the soaps I've inherited somehow along the way.Did owe £9,951.96
