Thank you for pointing that out, my heart has calmed down a bit now.
So I take it i am now playing a waiting game to see if the civil enforcement ltd reply otherwise I attend court in February?
In simple terms , the PPC is the claimant who issued the court claim , notice the c word
You are the defendant and have submitted a defence , notice the d words
You have been notified of the decision by the court you nominated if their requirements , in this case a copy of what they require the claimant to do , the deadline date for those actions , plus the consequences of not doing so
It's for information only as far as you are concerned , unless it requires the defendant to take action and a deadline date for those actions by you0 -
so after all the stress and anxiety I went to court and lost the case. Totally and utterly fed up with it all. I now owe them £271! Never again will I go through this

The judge said CEL was not responsible for putting a device in the shop to allow staff to input their registrations, the signs were clear - it was a 40 min stay and I went over it. He said it was a shame as I was volunteering and not being paid however the signs are clear. Ive never felt uncomfortable and out of my depth in my life, they had a lawyer fighting their case and he had all the jargon and spoke all the words they do in law whereas I knew nothing. Totally and utterly awful experience that I honestly urge others to not go through unless they are up with the law and the way things work.

Your experience is very much at odds with others. How much p0rep were you able to do beforehand?
CEL were of course responsible. The judge was wrong.0 -
I did quite a bit of prep beforehand but going to court, being faced with a judge and a lawyer who speaks in law is a bit like me telling them to go into an operating theatre and do my job! They wouldn't have a clue! Found the whole experience exhausting and stressful and really urge others to think twice before doing it, these forums are helpful but at the end of the day when you have to speak and represent yourself in a court of law its a lonely place.IMO the judge was really nice and helpful and understood I knew not a lot about 'law speak' however whether he is right or wrong is now irrelevant because he was the 'big man' on the day and his words are final!0
