I complained to the manager he said he could not do anything as it's a private parking company. If i would have rung him up straight away he would have been able to do something but as the ticket was issued in May he's unable to do anything now.
He is lying, or lazy. We know it's a private parking firm but they do not own the land.

There is no deadline on him bothering to cancel this scam, so contact him again and be a pain (a polite but persistent pain, so it's easier for him to email UKPC!).

You'll hopefully know from reading the link in the NEWBIES thread, to an entire list of SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PPCS that retailers can always cancel a PPC scam, even months/years later. Easy as pie to get these cancelled if you persist.

Too many other questions but yes (unless this is in Scotland) UKPC will sue you, if you don't get this cancelled, hence why it is VERY important to tell them your correct address by email, AND to get that Manager to cancel it, NOW, before court stage.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have rang Mc'donalds manager this morning and he is emailing them to explain he was very helpful today when I spoke to him. I want to inform uk parking control of my new address but the only email I can find for them is the sales email sales@ukparkingcontrol.com surely if I use this email address it won't get to the correct department. As I have not had the orignal letter I do not have the contact/email address for them. Does anyone else have it, please?
    Thank you

Check their privacy page as you need it to go to their DPO , not sales and I was very clear on this when I said the letters DPO (hint)

It's a DPA issue so same place as a SAR

I have submitted a SAR to UKPC and they have asked for proof of identity with a picture of my log book before they can comply with my request. Sorry I could not find your suggestions of the drop letter as proof of Id. Should I just send them a picture of my log book?
    Many thanks

Yes you need to send proof of ID with your SAR, and a copy of your log book will suffice.

Never send photo ID. The ICO has said that is unreasonable as they have nothing to compare it with.

    UKPC are fraudsers, read this

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11858473/Parking-firm-UKPC-admits-faking-tickets-to-fine-drivers.html

Write bad stuff on thejr Facebook and TrippAdvisor pages and complain to your MP as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Ok so I have received the SAR from UKPC what is the next step, please? What do I e-mail back to them?
    Many thanks
  • The ball is now in their court - they have 6 years to instigate court proceedings.

You must keep on to the Mcdonald’s Manager for cancellation, don’t let him forget about you.

If he fails to get this cancelled a complaint to the CEO is the next step.

Take a look at the information and see if there is anything useful in there. Things like not complying with POFA will be really helpful if it ever goes to court.

    Keep it safe.

So I should not respond with something like the following:
We have had no PCN or NTK from UK parking control. The copies attached are the first we have seen from Yourselves and were only made aware of an outstanding invoice by DRP. This has negated our opportunity to appeal which is not equitable. I would request that the invoice be returned to the appeal stage so we can properly address it.
