unfortunately/fortunately, i did not need to understand the law about damages today. the judge informed me that when i filled in the form to ask for the case to be heard, i did not ask for a counterclaim for compensation, only for costs. i am not happy with the outcome as this company purposely hounded me for money even after being informed that i suffer with anxiety and depression and they continue to do this to other fragile folk. is it still possible to take them to court for injury caused?

Yes you can file a claim.  Have a look at the counterclaim wording I posted on the thread by @ellaro9.

Did you at least get your costs, given that this was a costs hearing?  Who paid this hearing fee?

thank you so much for all your advice. very pleased to have received some costs and i was exempt from paying the fee.
i'll have a look at that thread now.
