You sold it based on the best information you had at the time, therefore it was the right decision.

Treat it as a learning exercise that you've learned from and move on. :)

    Yep this.

In the past I've sold a 1960 (mk 1) Mini with a rare 1071cc Cooper engine*, a Mk 2 Escort and a BMW "New Six" 2500, all for scrap because the best information at the time was that they were old cars and everyone wanted new ones or "real" classics.

Regrets? I've had a few but, then again, too few to mention....

    * Minisport have one of those for sale at the moment for a cool £5900 just for the engine!

Yes that's true, i was too attached personally. That's good advice, tin box and all that, i'll try and think that way from now on.

Def not a trader, couldn't handle the stress involved or the emotions lol

Sounds like you're getting better! I once had a car stolen from my lock up at the end of the garden (and then used in a post office robbery and then dumped).

The policewoman who saw my reaction when I lifted up the overhead door to the garage said 'you don't seem very distressed'. I replied, "It's a car. If it had been a burglary or my bicycle and caught them I'd ..." . I was going to say 'kick them in the cruciates and crush their !!!!!!!!", but I left the words unsaid.. I'm really a well-bred gel, honest!

Wow that is proper stress on a different level! I wouldn't have been as cool calm or collected as you if that had happened to me but at least the person who robbed it didn't set it on fire (I'm guessing?) so it was good you were able to get it back in one piece hopefully.

I'm taking from this not to name things that aren't people and just try to look at it as something that gets me from A to B.
