I love Just Eat. I can open the app, browse menus, place an order and half an hour later the man from the Curry House turns up on my doorstep with my food.0

Which would be really annoying if you'd ordered pizza :rotfl:0 -
Exactly!
Can you imagine that they make millions of profit every year and I think they are even in the FTSE 100! A company that does literally nothing!
Your understanding of literally and nothing are out.
Do you think estate agencies do nothing?
Do you think mortgage advisers do nothing?
Do you think accountants do nothing?
Do you think high street shops do nothing?
These are all intermediary services akin to just eat.
Lets not forget that all the business on there choose to use its services. Its in their own interest to do a cost benefit of using that service. Just because you dont understand how an e-commerce business works doesnt mean they do nothing.
Being the top hit on google when you type in takeaway isnt doing nothing. The amount of advertising they do isnt doing nothing. Being on Saturday night tv for every xfactor episode isnt doing nothing.0 -
No resaurant is forced to use them. They choose to do so because they think the costs and commission will be outweighed by the extra sales.Exactly!

No customer is forced to use them. They choose to do so because they think the costs will be outweighed by the convenience.
If they weren't providing a service people and restaurants wanted at a price they're willing to pay, they'd be out of business.0 -

A company that makes millions by doing 'literally' nothing. Round of applause to their board - brilliant result!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Don't use them then. It really isn't difficult. Or perhaps you feel compelled to use them as a result of their marketing (which they don't do because they don't do anything, apparently).Exactly!

Either they do nothing or what they're doing is so effective that they make millions and compel you to use them. Which is it?
Better still, gather together as much money as you can and buy shares in them. They sound like a great investment.0
