Carphone Warehouse Disconnection !!!

  • No. Normally it's just as described with cpw. Read the full thread on it.
  • Is it just a problem with O2 & CPW or will i be having the same problem when i come to cancel a T-Mobile contract through CPW?
  • I too had been counting the days till I could end this irritating contract.

    I rang the number on the bill (0870 111 7200) & explained I wanted to cancel,was put thru to retentions and I was talked into another cashback deal (I've 2 contracts - dreaded pricematch!).

    I rang the same number a couple of days later and explained I'd been talked into renewing and had now changed my mind. I was put straight through to cancellations, given a disconnection ref number and the southampton address. There was no attempt to try and change my mind.

    I received a letter a few days later from cpw (not e2save) confirming the disconnection dates and what would happen next.

    I am not bothered about taking my number with me though so not sure if this makes the process easier?

    btw the network was 02.

    good luck

    Has anybody else found it difficult to cancel a contract with CPW. I sent them numerous emails & letters but they would not respond. When I wrote saying I wanted to cancel my contract & which address I should use nobody would tell me. Received an email saying they didn’t know but somebody would contact me. This person called but reckoned he didn’t know either & gave me a number. Called & thought I had got through to one of BT’s Indian incomprehensible call centres. The woman blatantly refused to give the address & disconnection code. She rambled on for ages about deals & upgrades. Told me the poor service I had experienced was down to e2save & not CPW & that they were not connected. Told me my cash back cheques were not from CPW but they are. Also lied about the address I send them to. After about an hour of lies & complete rubbish she still refused to give the address & code. I put the phone down on her but she called again with more deals. I told her this was exactly the reason I was leaving, Poor Service. Does anybody know where to send disconnection letters. Many Thanks!

  • I have had it with Carphone Warehouse and O2. I have had exactly the same experience! So it is still happening years after the original post!

    At my wits end with them! Written to them, 3 times. Telephoned them numerous times. Different story each time. Eventually after 3 months my contract was cancelled, through being put through to a "disconnection team"! :mad:

    Now that is not the end of it. I cancelled my direct debit when I wrote giving the months notice. Which the apparently never received, though according to one operator I spoke to they did receive! They refuse to talk to me, deny they have a disconnections team, then tell me it was a 6-8 week trial, but refuse to tell me the trial dates. Then out of the blue, because I am refusing to pay the 3 months rental because of their error etc, I start to receive letters from a debt recovery firm. But I have stuck to my guns, they say they lodged an appeal, but Carphone warehouse still maintained I owe them the outstanding rental. NOW, I have a letter from the court - what do I do? My husband says pay it and then write to complaints dept etc, but I can't see it getting anywhere.

    Any suggestion? I need to act quick, had letter 2 weeks and no date on it as to when I have to contact them by!

    DGirl :angry::mad:

    ps. Do ask for their disconnections team - and if they exist please do let me know. thanks

    You could ask them if they don't have a disconnections team then why do they have an address for them if they don't exist ;)
