Carphone Warehouse Disconnection !!!

Has anybody else found it difficult to cancel a contract with CPW. I sent them numerous emails & letters but they would not respond. When I wrote saying I wanted to cancel my contract & which address I should use nobody would tell me. Received an email saying they didn’t know but somebody would contact me. This person called but reckoned he didn’t know either & gave me a number. Called & thought I had got through to one of BT’s Indian incomprehensible call centres. The woman blatantly refused to give the address & disconnection code. She rambled on for ages about deals & upgrades. Told me the poor service I had experienced was down to e2save & not CPW & that they were not connected. Told me my cash back cheques were not from CPW but they are. Also lied about the address I send them to. After about an hour of lies & complete rubbish she still refused to give the address & code. I put the phone down on her but she called again with more deals. I told her this was exactly the reason I was leaving, Poor Service. Does anybody know where to send disconnection letters. Many Thanks!

If you are with o2 via CPW then the number to call is 0870 111 7200.
Or send letter by recorded or Special Delivery as proof of posting to;
CPW/o2
1 Portal Way
London
W36RS
I have it marked in my calender and I am counting the days as when I can make the call, 43 to be exact !!! :j0 -
These are the people i am having trouble with. On O2 via CPW. Letters to London address doesnt get a reply.0

This is head office address, it also houses the complaints/admin departments. Sadly like you I have had my problems with CPW/o2 and like you they ignored all my letters until I started to send them recorded. That way I had proof of postage and receipt.
The main switchboard number is 0208 896 5000 and ask for o2 customer service or contract cancellations. Keep at them and don't give up.
Have you tried the 0870 111 7200 that is the number for cancellations given in the T&C ?0 -

They are terrible. Been trying to disconnect my phone since July. Written to them four times, twice by recorded delivery. Each time I phone up they say they never recieved the letter and give me the address to write again. They also told me the won't give me a code to unlock my phone even though I am out of my contract period, and that if I did this after finally getting disconnected then I could be prosecuted, as "it's illegal to unlock phones."
I'm raging!
Never expected this from such a big company. They are acting like two-bit scam artists, refusing to let me move to another provider. They also refused to put me through to a manager when I queried the nonsense they were talking.
I'll never go with CPW again.poppy100 -
Yep. That sums them up nowadays!0

Sorry to hear that yourself and others are finding difficulty cancelling.
Normally you ask the network provider or CPW for your PAC code, which they are oblidges to give you within 48 hours (OFCOM) if you are out of contract. They give it to the network you select and they will give you a temporary number until the transfer takes place (usually 30 days from you get you PAC (Port Authorisation Code).0
