Sorting the debt and the house.

Well hello.:j
This is day 1 of the rest of our lives.
Today we were told that the house we were in the middle of buying has fallen through and after many months of looking we have decided enough is enough, there is hardly anything on the market that compares to the house we live in now, so we are going to stay here.
Unfortunately we have to pay some solicitor and estate agent bills. Will get the proper figure in a few days but probably looking at £2000
:( Not happy as they pulled out first but it is what it is.
So our debt at the moment is
£4900 loan (3 years left)
£1200 family (6 months left at £200pm)
£1500 overdraft
Total = £7700
We have £750 in savings for annual bills etc.
The plan is to attack the overdraft first then the family loan at £200pm ends at the end of Jan so that will free up some cash to overpay on the loan therefore, making it finish earlier.
I'm not going to add on the house move bills until they come in.
At the same time as getting rid of the debt I would like to sort the house out and make it more like home. The house was completely renovated 2 years ago except the roof which only has a couple of years left. We have had a quote for approx £4000, that will have to wait for a few years and we will keep repairing as and when. This is the problem with buying an old house.
That's it for the moment.
Will try to update as often as I can.

So today is a work day. I always take a packed lunch, salad and fruit usually. In fact I might do a boiled egg to put in my salad (I'm so rock and roll).
Myself and husband have had a sit down to look at figures to pay the bills from this moving disaster (still makes me made!) We have moved the money from savings, our own pocket money and reduced a few direct debits for the next 2 month's to find this money. Husband has booked an overtime shift for tomorrow.
There is no messing around. We need to get this done!
Off to have a shower.
Will update later.

Yo dudes.
Hope your all well?. Thank you Beanie for popping in.
We have had an update re solicitors bill and it's not as bad as we expected. Just waiting on the estate agents bill.
I feel good about staying here now. It's a lovely old house. Lots of little projects planned for when money is better. The first being getting a shed for the bottom of the garden. The garden is large so we will get the biggest we can afford. Then I'd like to make the garden pretty. At the moment it's just a lawn. I would like a small veg patch also. That's going to be next summer now. This rest of this year I would like to get a few nice pictures. For the front living room and bedrooms. I would like a dressing table as I'm fed up of sitting on the floor but will look at the buy and sell sites in a few months time when money has settled down.
So we are being positive. Just been informed by favourite singer is doing a small tour next year and tickets go on sale possibly November so I really need to behave and this is given me insentive.
Catch up tomorrow

Good Morning Diary.:j
It's the weekend Hooray!:j
Plans today are to potter around the house. I need to empty a couple of boxes I packed for the move but of course that's not happening now. . . Grr so I need to empty them again.
Little one has a party this afternoon for a couple of hours so I might watch 'Keeping Faith' on catch up.
Nothing to report on money issues. All the bills don't go out until the 1st which is Thursday. Husband doing some overtime today. . .bless him. He is a good one and totally switched on to money worries, in fact probably switched on too much. He can have sleepless nights worring about it and doing spreadsheet in the early hours etc.
I must do some washing and ironing.
I normally do the ironing on Sunday whilst listening to my favourite secret crush on the Radio but we are having a family day out so will need to do it today and catch up with the crush another day :rotfl:
Going to have another cuppa and a quick read of other diaries now. I'm in no rush today. Also I really need to take the Sold sign down from the front garden it's doing my head in.
Take care out there.

Morning Diary
Had a lovely day yesterday. Stayed in the garden until 8pm with little one just playing. I have decided I'm glad we are not moving. Our garden is huge and we can make it nice. I have a 5 year plan in my head and I think this is just meant to be!!!
Hoping for another no spend day today. Going to weed and tidy front garden this morning then take a small picnic to local park with little ones bike (she really needs to start to ride without stabilisers!) Then home for a lovely roast. I have been growing runner beans and they need to be picked.
Can't do anything with money just yet as all bills go out on the 1st which is Thursday.
Right I've just finished a lovely cup of tea in bed made by lovely husband. I had better get up.
Bye for now

Thank you for popping in findingthisdifficult. I hope your well.
Well we had a lovely weekend. Mainly in the garden. Put the swimming pool up for little one. Planted some flowers and did a bit of weeding and deadheading. Did a shop in Lidl (haven't been there for years and I was impressed. It's a lot cheaper) The in-laws came down yesterday and as they were leaving they gave me any envelope and told me not to open it until they had gone. It was £100 to use for little ones school uniform. I was a little overcome. That will more that cover her uniform as I normally get it in the supermarkets. It will cover shoes and bag. Wow that is a big help.
We then popped in to a family bbq which was really nice. A few aunties, uncles and cousins that i havent seen for years. It was nice to catch up.
Husband then did bedtime with little one whilst I did some ironing. I hate ironing. With the lovely weather we are having it means I have done all the washing (all dried on the washing line) but then that leaves a mountain of ironing!!
It's a work day for me today. Have pasta to take for lunch. I'm in for a busy week because of people being on holiday but it's count down to my 2 weeks off after this week and I'm ready for some time off.
Better move and jump in the shower. Money is looking ok so far. We can do this!!!!

On my lunch break in work and just realised that LIFE IS GOOD!!! I feel happy. I have a nice job that I enjoy, a lovely husband and beautiful daughter. We live in a lovely village and our house is lovely. Why oh why did we want to move from this??? We wanted to be near little ones friends but we will just make sure we invite them over more.
There you go. . . Lunch over and ready to crack on.
