    What a great update both on the savings, the new job and the house. If your mother is giving you the deposit she will have to confirm it is a gift rather than a loan as otherwise the lender will not accept it is part of the deposit regardless of when and how it will be repaid. Basically they do not like the deposit to be a loan.  If the mortgage you need is well within affordability though it should not be an issue. The card is low enough for it not to affect a mortgage. I would save as much as possible in the next few months as buy8ng houses is expensive. Good luck.

    Thank you! That’s exactly why I haven’t paid off the credit card. I need to keep saving for moving costs and obviously the essential EF.

    What a great update, especially in the current circumstances we find ourselves.  I wondered how things were going with your new job, so great to hear that all is well, and even better that you are managing to buy a house already.
