Hey All
so it’s been a while, and what a strange world we are living in. Who would of thought a few months ago when I was panicking about new jobs and cars, that this would happen? Doesn’t it put life into perspective. I hope you are all safe and keeping well. I apologise once again for my absence. I’m now 9 weeks into my new role, and as such have found myself as a key worker. Although my role is now very different and I work solely from home, I am thanking my lucky stars that I am still working. I’ve just finished up for the day and I suddenly thought how lucky I was to find this forum when I did. The people I have engaged with on here taught me such valuable lessons around EF’s and budgeting, which in turn has made this awful experience a lot less stressful. Although talking about money seems so silly now, I thought I would give a quick update. My credit card sits at about £2,300. This is comfortably being paid down each month and is no longer used, however not at a fast rate. I also have my car, however that is being paid for by my car allowance so I don’t really count that. My pots are still in place and used religiously, I have some put aside for car repairs and childcare etc. I also use my budget spreadsheet at the start of each month, exactly how I was taught from here. Although I’m not as strict as I once was, none of my bad habits have returned, I still keep within budget and only buy what I can afford. The credit card is still the left over debt from the new job and no pay etc.I suppose my biggest news is I have over £5,000 in savings. Now a lot of you maybe asking why I don’t just pay off the credit card? Well the answer to that is because I have finally been able to sort out a mortgage and have even found a house. As you all know this was the end dream and has come a little quicker than I thought. My mum has sold one of her houses and is going to lend me some money for the deposit. The money will then be repaid when I come to sell the house. So a lot of things going on for me, and I’m actually very excited for the future.I hope you all stay safe and well, and let’s pray we get through these times as quickly as possible. Just caught up n you diary, it's all very scouting, a whole new start for you, new job and now your own house. The only thing I would say about the credit card is that they go against you more when it comes to a mortgage so might be worth seeing what impact clearing it would have on your mortgage you are trying to get.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

Yes I spoke about it to the mortgage broker, however, my affordability is fine for the level of borrowing I need and so it all seems ok to pay down as I am (about £300 per month). I got the mortgage in principle a couple of weeks back. Obviously because of all what is going on things are moving slowly so will be paying down as I’m waiting! My debt free journey, diary and all! So glad things are going well for you... and thank you for the work you are doing..:)
I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy1 -

Fantastic news on the house! We also went to look at what we could borrow with a look to moving around May time. So that's all on the back burner for now 😂 but more time to get the house in order for the summer.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1
