Chelseablue, thats exactly what i thought, but then my friend (after a lot of wine) persuaded me to call him, and it rung and he didnt answer. If something had happened surely his phone wouldnt be ringing??? Im so confused. Like it was so out of the blue, and i cannot describe how unlike him it is (or seemed to be), but surely his phone would not be ringing! My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0

To be honest ive hated this job for so long, im really excited to have a fresh start for a new year. This year has been horrendous, so im really pleased to be starting the year with far less debt, a new financial sense, new job and new goals!
I just read through your diary. You have done an excellent job getting back control of everything - well done.
I also came across your reply above and thought that the part about "no longer be entitled to the Child Benefit" is not entirely true. Obviously I don't know your exact income but on the basis of your SOA I believe it was previously something around 41K; with 10K rise it would be around 51K. (Even if it is much higher)You can continue to claim child benefit if you either overpay into your pension pot OR pay the HICBC back to HMRC. No matter which option you choose you should still be able to claim child benefit.
Hope that helps and good luck.Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.

Hi
Thanks for your reply! I currently earn £50k plus benefits and bonus, I will now be earning £60k plus 20% bonus and benefits. So I believe that will be over the threshold but will check! I got a claim sheet last year asking me loads of questions to test if I was still entitled and heard nothing more so presume it’s ok, so we will see what happens!
Remember my take home pay has a deduction of company car and also my pension which is £210, so my take home pay looks as though my overall salary is a lot lower than what it is!
Thank you for your kind words, the journey has been the best one I’ve done!My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0
