Britannia Parking is a hideous company

I have paid these guys hundreds of pounds and one day the app transaction didn't go through in the morning and I noticed it in the afternoon.

Now they want me to pay £40.

Is there any way to make a popla appeal successful?

By the way it was paid for 12h on the same day, just not after the car parked at 8am but at 2pm.

Thanks!

Everyone is asked to read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Go there now to learn about the game you are now caught up in and how to deal with this

Post #3 there covers popla appeals in depth

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving

You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Presumably in daily parking fees over several months/years. That said, those fees may not have actually been going to Britannia of course. :)

Was it a windscreen ticket or postal PCN? And what were the dates of both the alleged contravention and the arrival of Notice to Keeper?

Has the driver's identity been revealed in an appeal to Britannia? If not, edit your post to conceal it.

You are quite right, they are hideous. You sound angry enough to beat 'em though!

It was a paper on the windscreen.

What can I do? They took photos of the car within 1h frame.

What would be the ground to appeal to poplar?
Will they accept the payment after few hours?

Will the council who seems to own the land be able to delete the ticket?

Personally I've found Britannia to be a fair and easy company to deal with. I use their car parks a fair amount. A while ago, I realised two days late that I hadn't paid for a day's parking. I called them, and they charged a £6 admin fee for a late payment. I thought this was very reasonable.

My brother recently received a notice from a parking management company, can't remember which one, for overstaying at an Aldi car park. He stayed 96 minutes when the limit was 90. He paid the charge immediately to stop it escalating, but also wrote to the company and sent a copy of his Aldi receipt to show that he had genuinely been shopping there. They refunded the money by cheque.

Parking management companies are providing a valuable service to motorists and landowners, and try to prevent abuse from people who think they have a right to park on other people's land outside the terms of any permission or agreement.

Your experience is not the norm when dealing with ppcs

And hardly relevant in this forum dedicated to helping victims of private parking company who's tactics you can read about throughout this forum

When I read someone opining that Britannia is a "hideous company" and my experience of them is very different, I think it's right to speak up.
