This sounds like it could be legit. I think perhaps you misunderstand what they're telling you:

Of course it is - but Paypal are saying they have removed the connection with your bank account from your PAYPAL account. So log in to paypal and take a look. Paypal are saying it's due to a bank error, not because your account has disintegrated :D

I had an e mail the other day from" Paypal " about my account - funny thing is i don't have an account. daughter does and uses it on my computer but under a set of different passwords and usernames. i replied sorry don't have an account and guess what the post came back as not known. i then scanned computer for viruses( already had something on there so don't know if it gave me anything ) this is the second time its happened and once it came through on her username etc and we ignored it as i said if there was a problem it'll show up when you got to pay not randomly. .

The second one sounds a bit more spoofy. But you may wish to check that your PP account hasn't been hacked, and double check your PC security.

A day before going on holiday i had an e-mail from paypal saying I had purchased from a store in America some goods to the total of $1500. Knowing I had not done so I instantly rang paypal who confirmed it was a legit sale - the name was mine but the address was in London somewhere. Fortunately i got it sorted without anything going from my account as i also phoned my bank to make them aware of what was happening - my bank increased my overdraft and told me no charges would be made if anything did go out.

How they got my details I am not sure and paypal investigated but nothing came of it or if it did i never found out

It didn't half put a dampner on the holiday
  • I have recieved at least 4 emails in the past 2 weeks claiming to be from paypal, some saying i had bought something in Germany the others saying i had to update my account  . The amazing thing is i dont have an account with paypal , i forwarded them to the spoof team at paypal & guess what they were spoof emails .My advice is never click on any links in them ,delete or forward them to paypal and then DELETE THEM:j
