AMEX balance transfer problems... MBNA?

Hi everyone,

So a few months ago I attempted a balance transfer from my American Express BA credit card to my new Virgin 0% transfers card. After weeks of it being rejected and different managers phoning and then not phoning back when promised I just gave up on the idea and put up with the interest on my AMEX.

A couple of days ago my friend told me about an MBNA 0% balance transfer card that apparently accepts American Express balance transfers. I got accepted online, I also requested the balance transfer online with the 15 digit card number that was accepted and now the anxious wait begins to see if it will be accepted. I even phoned them to check they accept AMEX balance transfers and she said it may be rejected because of the card number but if I phone them they WILL be able to process it over the phone.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experiences with balance transfers from AMEX to MBNA cards? Did it go through ok? If not when you phoned did they process it ok?

I just don't want a repeat of my Virgin experience when I got promised calls back, given about 5 different numbers to call and in the end gave up!
