i'm new to the UK just opened a cashplus account and have no credit history, just signed up for the voter roll.
I thought maybe i start building credit with very.co.uk.
So i applied and they approved me for 250 pound, i ordered like 2 little things shoes and some pants.
After placing it next day i saw the shoes were canceled and the pants shipped. My limit got reduced to 50 pound.
Now this morning i got a rather nasty email, is there anything i can do ?
WE'RE SORRY BUT WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANY FURTHER ORDERS ON THIS ACCOUNT
Hi Mr. X
After further checks we've come across additional information and we've made the decision to remove the credit facility on this account with a view of closing it when any balance is settled in line with our risk policy.
We will therefore not be accepting any further orders and any outstanding orders will not be processed.
If you have an outstanding balance on the account please ensure you make at least the minimum payment required by the due date on your statement.
Remember, you can check your balance, payment due date and make payments online anytime via "My Account".
Kind Regards

It's not a nasty email. They've just decided to close the account.
You could ask them to reconsider but I wouldn't waste my time.
But do check your credit files to see if there is anything amiss.0 -
i have a clean file nothing on it.
I just started this a few days ago.
I just wanna have something reporting since capital one, aqua etc all refused to even give me a starter card0 -

Exactly the same thing happened to me when I first applied to Very for an account. I rang them up and asked them if they could reconsider. They then did a manual credit check and decided to accept my application! Ring them up on Monday and ask them to do a manual credit check. Maybe you will be successful too.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
Definitely worth giving them a call and asking them to reconsider their decision, even if they only give you a £50-£100 limit it will still report. Just make sure that you pay for the item you've already ordered on time; if you don't then you definitely aren't going to get credit from them.0

If a sub-prime credit card company are unwilling to give you a card there is something going on.
Have you had financial difficulty before?
Are you new to the UK or just turned 18?
Do you have a bank account? Mobile phone?
Could be a CIFAS marker which won't show up on the credit reference reports you have access to.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Hello, yes i'm new to the UK, i have like 0 on it, the Electoral Roll said on the 1st of August my info will be in the database (hopefully the credit bureau will get it as well).
I signed up for loqbox 2 month ago but that doesnt show up on my reports either (as yet).
I got an account with cashplus 1-2 weeks ago.....
i use checkmyfile........
i would upload a pic of the report but apperently i'm not allowed to but, so check my file says (Same for Experian/ Transunion & Crediva):
Information From Equifax
No active accounts reported
Not confirmed on the Electoral Roll
Linked to 1 address
No Financial Associations reported
No Court Judgments or Insolvencies reported
No Cifas fraud warnings reported
3 Credit Applications in the last 12 months0 -
the idea to ring them up sounds resonable, but they not able to find anything positive on my file?
The order i made i payed in full already (wasnt even delivered yet).
Or is it better to wait until (maybe loqbox reports) or my address is on the electoral roll so they can check that out ?0 -
So your problem looks to me to be the fact you are not on the electoral role and have 3 credit searches. You just need to wait until the you appear on the electoral role before applying for more credit.0
