Tip of a very big iceberg! Many on benefits bend or are told to bend the truth (just read the forum!) so they can maximise income. Doubt they would get caught even if reported. The whole benefit system too generous and broken beyond repair, it needs scrapping and starting again!

£73 per week for a single person is hardly generous

I always wonder why people come here to seek our permission to report someone ?? OP if you think they are breaking any laws then just report them to the DWP, but be careful you are in possession of ALL the facts.

The fraud staff look into the facts.

Are you trying to stop people reporting fraudsters? If not, what are you doing? I don't understand.

What makes you think venison is trying to stop OP reporting the fraudster. He explicitly says "OP if you think they are breaking any laws then just report them to the DWP." He's simply expressing puzzlement that OP appears to feel they need permission from an online forum before making a report.
I always wonder why people post on this board to discuss people they feel may be committing benefit fraud when this board is
about helping people get their entitlement! Not about benefits policy!

This board is here for help and support for those on or looking to claim benefits, not for judgement.

It’s ONLY focus is helping people with their money.

It's here to help people find out what they are entitled to under the current system, and to help them get it.

Benefits provide a lifeline for many, and this site is here to help people with their money, and not to judge. Of course, how to illegally defraud the benefits system shouldn't be discussed here, but ensuring you're getting your entitlement is exactly what it’s about.

We all know the benefits system is a mess – but that’s for the discussion time.

Whatever you're political persuasion, we're all aware the benefits system is a mess. Whether it’s the malpayments of tax credits, benefit fraud, or simply the fact that sometimes it doesn't pay to work - everyone has their grumble.

Yet to discuss the benefits system itself and issues around it, the appropriate place isn't here but the Discussion time Board and even there, please remember courtesy and not to make it personal about anyone. This site's prime purpose it to help people with their money and I will always act to protect that.

    Thanks for your co-operation

    Martin
I'm struggling to understand what help and support the OP needs in finding out what she is entitled to.

    This thread needs moving.
This is the wrong board for a discussion such as this.

I got reported for benefit fraud once. I was living alone with my 3 little kids and the landlord asked if his mate could use my drive for his car as parking was at a premium and I never used the drive. I met the lad (he was much younger than me) and we went to the same school, lived very near each other as children... hundreds of miles away. Pure coincidence, but the one and only time I ever spoke to him we shared a conversation on the drive.

According to someone who reported me, I was living with this lad, and it caused me untold problems and worry, as well as I had to borrow money off a friend. It got sorted in the end, but I always wished someone had checked fully on their 'facts' first before jumping to conclusions... maybe you should think about that.
Remember when you judge someone, it does not define them ... You define yourself :j
