Buying cash is for the 1980s. You'll get fleeced on the rates.
  • I did research about charges and Vegas has upto $4 charge per transaction

Think I will buy then cannot see any outcome where the pound won’t drop a little
Yes cash I think is easier generally, there is a safe in the room etc.
Although as a gambler you may disagree, the value of the pound against the dollar is just as likely to rise as it is to drop by the time you go.

If you can accept that you might be mistaken, try reading some of the MSE travel money advice articles, then tell us if and why you would still go to the expense and hassle of buying, transporting and safeguarding £4000 worth of dollars in cash.

I assume you mean ATM withdrawals. Don't casinos accept card payment?

Naturally, the OP may have another overriding reason why he'd like to take a large amount of cash out of the country and into a casino abroard.

Yes, particularly since he is unhappy about showing ID to exchange the cash. I think we have heard from the last of the Great Train Robbers...
  • Wow criticism from all angles. I’ve never been to Las Vegas before and will be my first experience. I like a bit of poker sure, why am I not allowed to enjoy a holiday without being judged?

In my opinion I got an amazing deal on the holiday and can afford comfortably Togo and have fun.

It’s certainly not all about gambling, plenty of other things to do.
  • Haha I’m totally fine about showing my ID, I can prove where all my money comes from. Bunch of you love to hate, maybe a hint of jealousy
  • Didn’t say I was going to Vegas to play poker. You all made an assumption I a degenerate gambler, I was just correcting you.

It’s only jealousy that gets people to act so negatively.
