As for Winddows Mail it may be a temporary issue - it'll work tomorrow. Or just reset as stated in post #4

OP...Try putting your Gmail details in via the 'other pop/imap' section instead of just clicking on Google. Sometimes it plays up when putting in the account details automatically.

Try setting the email account up as IMAP in your email program; https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7126229?hl=en-GB Make sure that all settings are correct, such as port numbers and SSLs

If it isnt working, please send a screenshot of all your email settings (censor your email address) and a screenshot of the error you are getting.

The app I use to collect the emails is Mail from microsoft store


I am clicking on the Mail app and clicking add account clicking Google the entering address and password it then says adding account then something is wrone

Stop wasting your time with windows mail.

Thunderbird is far superior and will handle many different email accounts with ease, is reliable and fully supported.

Just a thought but do you have 2 factor authentication set up on your Google account? Some clients have a problem with that and fail at the authentication stage.
