I would love to be able to take that stance with my handbags, but they will never wear out!  Which is why I am resorting to selling them and my shoes.  I can guarantee though that once said item is gone, I will need it.  Such is life...

I have this fear also Tahlullah - that they won't wear out - or at least not for years... especially as i can't seem to be bothered using a bag anymore..

I am starting to struggle to find things to sell.  I think I have to look towards clothes as well.

OK, Stripey, I am going to list a top and a skirt.  I hereby vow to do this before the end of tomorrow.  So, by Wednesday 23.59, they will have been listed!  Perhaps we need a challenge to pull our fingers out?  This is mine, just so that I don't have to come on here and admit my failure.

  • How lovely to have decided to pop in and post and have visitors and visitors leaving such kind, supportive and encouraging messages - thank you.

Thank you for stopping by Tahlullah and Savings. And Hi Humdinger thank you so much for delurking and posting such a lovely message - i definitely think i need to adopt those 2 strategies - although i like reading the posts on here in the evening so discipline would be required! No need to lurk at all. I do need to walk more but it does cause me some pain currently - not walking i still have the pain but walking makes it worse - thank you for reminding me i need to chase the hospital about this.

Done immediately - so i can't put this off - turns out the lady who told me i'd get a call and also told me she wasn't really sure what she was doing  - clearly didn't know what she was doing because i've just been told i would have had a call if i'd been on the list. Oh well! I guess we all make mistakes and at least i'm booked in now.

So i have been glum, and in some pain and having computer issues and all have conspired to keep me off posting. But i have missed you guys and i've missed posting and i am going to try and pop in more regularly. I am glad i made this decision today as work is so busy i could have easily worked through lunch but decided i'd stop, later than usual, for lunch and pop on here instead! Having leftovers for lunch is also time saving.

I also wanted to reply to your question properly savings about if i'd been anywhere / done anything nice. I had replied and deleted an answer a few times. Mr Socks has taken me out a few times since the restrictions were lifted but visiting places costs: petrol or train to get there, inevitably we will have parking (depending on location) and a couple of drinks and maybe a spot of lunch - i seem to end up getting the most expensive of the bills - just the way it has landed. And whilst i do enjoy going out and being somewhere new i am then worrying about the spending of money - if we went out and i spent £15 for example then i cannot be spending that every week.

Tahlullah - i have 8 items to list so i will do them by the end of the week! I will report back.

I thought i'd post about the things i'm pleased with as well:

I didn't get any yellow stickered items when shopping this week - but i was gifted some leftover food and i have enough yellow stickered food from last weeks shopping for meals yesterday, today and tomorrow. Undecided on Saturday's meal but i think some of the leftovers may come into their own here - actually decision made - yellow stickered and gifted leftovers for tea. Also, one of the 90p meals i got is actually covering 3 meals so excellent value there.

I have gifted quite a few things instead of selling and sourced some free items for others as well. It is good to help people out. And the things of my own i've gifted are at least things gone.

I'm going to do a bottom of the fridge soup to avoid any waste  o:)

I am glad i bought so many very cheap shampoos etc in the past - it has kept that side of the shopping low and i am 'shopping from home' for these things.

I am glad i didn't cut back on the bird feed - it is lovely to have so many colourful visitors - i think the cats are pleased as well  :o

Right back to it - i am very much looking forward to the weekend. i will try and post on more diaries - i tend to read on my phone where posting is fiddly.

I hope all are well and thank you for sticking with me. I am trying to read self-help books to buoy myself up a bit so any recommendations welcome.
