Like the list of little things you are doing to bring yourself pleasure.
I make myself get rid of stuff with holes - unless they are almost new and the hole is somewhere it would never be seen like my leggings... even as I write that though - I know it is ridiculous as the leggings were only £2.50... My DD has been helping me with this.
DH took an old chest of drawers and a desk to the tip for me today, I also binned a shapeless t-shirt - so now at 39/100 list.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hello all!
Gosh! how long it has been since i did a proper update and, in lots of ways, nothing too significant to report.
I have been trying to get more organised here - there is a lot to doBut progress is progress and i'm taking that as a win
I did suggest a declutter target of 50 items for this first week of December - i am not at that target yet. So far:
5 - Parted with 3 pairs of tights and 2 pairs of socks. They were very, very tatty - full of holes and 2 pairs of the tights were laddered a lotI wore them underneath things but still! i am including these in my totals because i would usually just keep bearing with them
7 - items re-gifted - either directly offered or put into the present stash. Happy with this, all new items but not suitable for me and never provided with the receipts to exchange, so i'm not sure if i was keeping out of a sense of guilt?
12 so far and i do not think that is too bad at all coming up to the weekend
I would have liked an early night but there is a washing mountain to tackle after i've got in from work. i've already reached the summit of the pot mountain.
Long post deleted. I am stressed about various things in my life. I do not have control over most of these things. I have control over me, who I am, who I want to be and how I respond to these things.
I will aim to update more comprehensively soon.1st May 2025

Well, you know you better than anyone and if you know that external matters are controlling your life, then it will take time to get to a point when you are back in charge and can dictate how and when and if you react to the external pressures and stimuli.
But do look at your daily life and recognise that you do have control in some areas and aspects. It is sometimes the small things that allow us to take the small steps towards the big issues, because without the strength and confidence to tackle the small things, how could you ever tackle the big?
The very fact you come on this site and tell us what you do, and what you achieve on a regular basis is evidence of that. You choose to make a difference, even if it is the decision to part with an old pair of tights. You made the decision to do something which was not the norm, you broke the tradition of keeping them forever. every little step helps. you will get here.
I remember someone once saying to me that you don't cross a room in one big bound, its a series of small bunny steps. This is true for all achievements. Celebrate the small wins!!What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Woohoo Tahlullah good post. What she said...
Seriously Stripey - everybody secretly struggles a lot more than their mask suggests. Don't be too hard on yourself. My declutter challenge has fallen by the wayside a the moment - but I'm off for 2 weeks over xmas so hopefully will do more then. I am struggling to find the energy to even finish xmas decorating so feel your pain...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hello all
I hope you've all had a great Christmas :T I couldn't get on here beforehand as work and life were so very busy.
I have lots of smaller ongoing goals for this year but i'm writing them in a book instead - because i can't always get on here and i like to jot down what i've achieved.
I lost track with the decluttering too savings but lots of things did leave the house :T
Today i need to take my car to the garage
I'm cooking a roast for tea as we didn't have one at Christmas
I've defrosted some meat so i can use up some veg in a slow cooker dish overnight.
I'd like to bake a loaf.
I have done some reading and would like to do some more.
I want to clear the rest of the bags from the bedroom
Lots to do!!1st May 2025

Well done on decluttering - I need to begin again. I did give some things I'd made and somethings from my gift box at xmas so a kind of decluttering. One of my nephews is really into crafts so I can pass some of my extremely large surplus onto him at some point. Good luck with the bedroom clearing. My study became a dumping ground again recently so need to re-clear it - frustrating.
Hopefully you will get an energy boost from the new year and find things easier.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
