The 'New' Nectar app from Sainsbury's is great; once you've paid for your shopping, within minutes, you get a notification on your phone saying they've been added. Plus, the balance updates automatically within the app showing the new balance.
But I always take a receipt; I work in Retail and when we have staff searches I need proof I've paid for anything I've got on me.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

I have 3 credit cards and a debit card I use for purchases, none of them instantly show EVERY transaction.
I always ask for receipts anyway as like a previous poster I log all my expenditure on a spreadsheet.

If someone else was using the card, they would get the receipt anyway.
I can't see how having a receipt stops fraud, except for the people who meticoulsly check every transaction, but I have a good idea of where I have been and notice transactions that aren't purchased by me.0 -
I always get a receipt - for example in Asda if the price is wrong you get your money back plus £2 compensation - I have saved up about £40 over the last few years (on their Christmas card) from picking up £2 compensations.
Also, when going to WHSmith to buy the papers I get a receipt, so when I go to another shop after I can prove I bought the papers at WHSmith and not trying to steal them from them:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -

That's a bit extreme. And you don't have to prove your innocence to anyone.0
