It's the equivlent to people in Charlton claiming to be in Blackheath because they have an SE3 postcode.  A postcode does not an identity make. :)

This flat in Highbury and Islington is been on the market for a while and it looks pretty nice..I like how they separated the bedroom (even though the entrance is from the bedroom)... The EA couldn't tell me if the building has a EWS certificate but he guaranteed it's mortgageable. Service charge a bit high (1500) but cheap ground rent (50).
    Sweet location

Loads of the rubbish that has been thrown up in London recently won`t sell in future, not for what they paid anyway, and in many cases it won`t be cladding to blame.

Southall over Greenwich?! Absolutely no comparison for me, Greenwich all the way.

Not sure I agree, the comparison is between a two bed, 60sq meter flat and a studio. I also find Greenwich pretty boring, if I was going to spend a lot I'd go for somewhere more interesting myself, like Hackney, Dalston, Brixton etc. But to each their own.

A brand new studio (34.6sqm) literally in front of the tube it's not happening in Hackney, Brixton or anywhere you want in London at that price. I disagree, Deptford got actually quite a lot of things going on and still seems to retain a decent sense of community - something that's completely gone a decade ago in Hackney.
  • Seems quite soon to be sticking in an offer.... I thought you said you didn't know Deptford that well?
I'd be going back and checking out the surroundings at various times of day/night. Probably the biggest purchase of your life so far.

Much of London is horses for courses really, just because someone likes one area does not mean you will. The only real way is to see it for yourself.
