    Ulsterbank were the first of RBS to pay out, Payment to be made by 12/7, So if this is the case it'll be good fun when it comes to paying out Natwest accounts and no one gets anything unless they have £1500 in their accounts.

    Might be a good idea for anyone who switched with Natwest to put the £1500 back in before Friday then. And anyone who switched with RBS to stick the £1500 back in by August 1st.

    Well I will lodge a complaint and post the outcome so you will know what the issue was.

    I've been speaking to someone on Reddit who worked for Ulsterbank and told me the following.
    Someone needs to key that credit, normally the branch that the account is linked to, clearly someone has not passed it on to them.
    For whatever reason that would be.

    A couple of questions:

    1. Did you fully comply with condition 1(a), ie "As part of that application, you must transfer a non-Ulster current account to your new eligible account..."?

    2. Did you fully comply with condition 1(b)(i) b. ie "Before 17th June...log in to our online or mobile banking service"?

    1. I moved over from Santander

    2. Yes, I had logged into both a week after account opening which was mid-April. The banking app is accessed every day since, online at least once per week. The telephone bank agent checked both and confirmed this.

    ..."as part of the application" (the bit I emboldened)?...in other words during the same online application session? Or at a later date?

    I did take and save screenshots of the RBS offer - just in case.
    Please post the outcome n1guy, it could be of interest to us Natwest and RBS switchers.
    "Might be a good idea for anyone who switched with Natwest to put the £1500 back in before Friday then. And anyone who switched with RBS to stick the £1500 back in by August 1st"
    A sensible suggestion and might well be worth doing. I certainly couldn't find any requirements re the £1500 to keep it in the account until a certain date though.

    Something sneaky and ambiguous in their wording and/or terms? I don't know.

    I think "scam" is a bit harsh.

    So these are the Ulsterbank terms. I imagine RBS and Natwest are basically the same except the dates.
    £175 ULSTER BANK “SWITCH AND STAY” OFFER TERMS
    Who’s eligible for the offer?
    New and existing Ulster Bank Limited (‘Ulster’) customers are eligible for this offer if you meet the following conditions:
    1. New customers must:
    (a) apply for an Ulster Select, ufirst Gold, Private or ufirst Private account (‘eligible current account’) via ulsterbank.co.uk,
    or through a branch, between 8 April 2019 and 17 May 2019. As part of that application, you must transfer a non-Ulster
    current account to your new eligible current account (which includes closing your non-Ulster current account and
    moving all your payment instructions to your eligible current account) using the Current Account Switch Service; and
    (b) after your eligible current account is opened, you must also:
    (i) before 17 June 2019:
    a. deposit £1,500 into your eligible current account;

    b. log into our online or mobile banking service; and
    (ii) before 1 May 2020, use your debit card linked to your eligible current account at least once per month.
    2. Existing customers who already have an Ulster Select, ufirst Gold, Private or ufirst Private account (‘eligible current account’)
    opened prior to 8 April 2019, must:
    (a) by 17 May 2019, transfer a non-Ulster current account to your existing eligible current account (which includes closing
    your non-Ulster current account and moving all your payment instructions to your eligible current account) using the
    Current Account Switch Service online or through a branch;
    (b) before 17 June 2019:
    (i) deposit £1,500 into your existing eligible current account;
    (ii) log into our online or mobile banking service; and
    (c) before 1 May 2020, use your debit card linked to your existing eligible current account at least once per month.
    What is the offer?
    If you meet the conditions for this offer, we’ll pay £125 into your eligible current account by 12 July 2019. If you keep your eligible
    current account open and continue to meet the conditions for this offer, we’ll pay you £50 by 31 May 2020.
    Please note:
    • If you close your eligible current account before 12 July 2019, then no payments will be made to you.
    • If you close your account after 12 July 2019 and before 31 May 2020, you won’t receive the second payment of £50.
    • You won’t be eligible for this offer if you’ve already taken advantage of a cash offer from National Westminster Bank
    Plc (‘NatWest’) and/or The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (‘RBS’) between October 2017 and March 2019 for (i) opening
    a new current account and switching to RBS/NatWest or (ii) upgrading your existing RBS/NatWest current account.
    • Joint accounts will only be eligible for one payment.
    • You can only benefit from this offer once and we can withdraw it at any time.
    What other conditions do you need to know?
    You’ll be bound by Your Current Account Terms. This document contains all the terms applicable to your eligible current account,
    including any regular criteria you need to meet in order to keep your account and use the account benefits.

    As you can see it doesn't actually say anything about having to keep £1500 in the account, I only usually keep small day to day amounts in a current account for bills etc keeping the rest in a linked savings account, I never have £1500 in a current account at one time.

    Same t's & c's as when I switched to RBS and I agree that there is no mention of keeping £1,500 in there. I also was not planning on keeping this sort of balance in there, although actually the balance is just over that and I now plan to keep it there until 2nd August (my cut-off point for the incentive). I did wonder if they will count the switch balance as part of the deposit. That was just over £1,000, but I had actually deposited £1,000 on the day the account was opened. I then transferred £500 out to another account, and planned to transfer most of the remaining balance to one of my others. I know First Direct count the switch cash in this manner because I specifically asked this question when I set the up the switch/account opening, but to be on the safe side I will start to cycle the cash through these accounts next week to make sure I fully comply.
