So how do i deal with this folks. This promotion ran across the RBS group.
I signed up with Ulster Bank. No payment received no word of any payment for either me or my wife who did the same.
Terms say:
apply for an Ulster Select, ufirst Gold, Private or ufirst Private account (‘eligible current account’) via ulsterbank.co.uk,
or through a branch, between 8 April 2019 and 17 May 2019. A
(i) before 17 June 2019:
a. deposit £1,500 into your eligible current account;
(b) after your eligible current account is opened, you must also:
(i) before 17 June 2019:
a. deposit £1,500 into your eligible current account;
I opened my account on 12th April, By June £2k had gone through the account, However on 17th June my balance was £200 as I had transferred most into a linked saving account.
I spoke to the switch team who weren't interested but told me payments had been made by now and put my through to RBS complaints who told me on 17th June my balance was only £200, I told them yes but up to that point £2k had gone through the account, I was then told this doesn't matter on 17th June my balance was only £200
So no payment made, where do I go with this? Am I in the wrong?

If you have complied with the terms, and they reneged on them, raise a formal, written complaint.0

Ulsterbank were the first of RBS to pay out, Payment to be made by 12/7, So if this is the case it'll be good fun when it comes to paying out Natwest accounts and no one gets anything unless they have £1500 in their accounts.0

The "at least£1500" deposit isn't conditional on it remaining in the account until the bonus is paid out. Nothing in the offer suggests that.0 -

Which is what I thought also. The deadline for Ulsterbank paying out was by 12/7 which I believe is earlier than RBS and Natwest, 12/7 is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland so the deadline to be in the account is tomorrow but there is no sign of anything happening, nothing scheduled, etc according to staff.
If it was just me, then OK maybe they have made a !!!! up but the wife has not got anything either and no it's not a joint account.0 -
So the bank account switch completed properly and the £1500 was deposited from a non RBS account?
Then complain the RBS about it.0 -
Have you complied with all the t's&c's? I have just switched to RBS for the incentive and have to not only transfer £1,500, but also set up digital/online banking by 2nd August to get the payout on 30th August. To get the £50 "stay" bonus next year I have to use debit card at least once per month. I'm guessing the conditions were similar for Ulster Bank, with the dates adjusted accordingly, so can you be sure you set up the digital banking within the time scale? That's the only thing I could think of.
I will be watching closely at the end of August to see what happens with my account.0 -
Yes according to the advisor I have met all conditions and she checked everything. Only thing is this £1500, yes I had more than enough in by the date required but did not have £1500 in my account on 17th June. This is the sticking point and why we think it’s not been paid,the advisor agrees with me, so it’s looking like I wait until I can lodge a complaint on Monday.0

Hmm, it certainly doesn't say that you have to keep the cash in your account until a particular date. However, I have just found a thread questioning whether the bonus applies if you open an account and then switch, (i.e. does that mean you are an existing customer prior to switching?), or if you have to apply for the switch at the time of applying for the account -https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5973272/rbs-switch-bonus-terms. Not sure there was an answer within the thread but interesting nonetheless.
I did apply for the switch as part of the account opening but I will definitely be watching my account with an eagle eye at the end of August.
Hope you get your problem resolved soon.0 -

I’ve switched accounts a few times. Firstdirect, Halifax, all no problem getting switch claim. RBS are a different kettle of fish it seems, any excuse to get out of paying, that is what they’re after.0
