Parking Charge NTK received yet paid for parking

Should I write back to them to explain that we did pay and therefore can only assume that either the equipment is faulty, or we accidentally put our registration in wrong, which should surely be visible from their records?
Even if your were to write, surely rather than the above you would be saying something like:We did pay but for some inexplicable reason the equipment recorded a wrong registration. You need to get away from the idea that the driver did anything wrong. Why on earth did their ticket machine accept a registration number for a car that was not even in the car park? Any reasonable company would simply reject an attempt to pay for a vehicle that wasn't there.0 -
Don’t think you can reason with the PPC - they want your cash and nothing you say will change this.
You have been advised to contact the landowner on a number of occasions, this is your only chance of this being cancelled.
Your other option is to wait up to 6 years to see if they issue a court claim.0 -
Thank you again. Posts edited as suggested.
Attempts are ongoing to establish the landowner of the car park.0 -
Just a quick update:
I have received a further "reminder" letter from Park with ease stating payment should be made within 14 days to avoid legal action.
I have also written to:
- the PPC demanding a SAR and requesting a restriction of data processing and that the case should be put 'on hold'.
- the landowner stating how disgusted and threatened I feel at the letters I have received and asking that they reverse the charges.
Anything else I can do at this time?0 -
You know from reading the NEWBIE sticky post # 4 that you just ignore debt collector letters and reminders. When you sent the missive to the PPC asking for restriction of data processing, did you say that, although any debt is denied, you were seeking debt advice? If so they have to halt processing due to PAP rules.0

Just a quick update! After writing to the land owner (Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust) to explain my dissatisfaction at the parking company's conduct, I received an email back today saying that they'd looked at the records for that day and found that we'd entered one digit wrong when keying in our registration and as such had cancelled the PCN. Great result, but highly annoyed that "Park with ease" weren't able to work out the issue for themselves and instead hounded us for payment of a hefty fine.
Thank you to everyone that provided advice.0 -
Great result for you.0
